because of my prince dream... today i have had sweet baby on repeat!!!

this song means so much to me, in the past i have recited the words to sweet baby many times to myself, esp when things had been horrible...... it gives me hope and its gotten me through some very rought patches

i find this to b an ispirational song.... so beautiful and sad at the same time

One of my favorite albums. Killer vocal.

i this song- beautiful vocal, listen to it on repeat many many times.

It's superfluous since Damn U covers the same ground and does it better.

Clearly you don't pay enough attention then

was the first album I heard of Prince's and I fell in love with it. This song played beautifully into my vulnerable, romantic little teenage heart, so I still love it, even if I don't listen to it that often these days.

But, for the same reason, I totally get how it's not for everyone

It isnt a bad song, it overly sugarsweet indeed, but is nicely sung and well composed.

But what i remember most is, how out of place it did sound to me on the symbol album. The same goes with And God created women from that album. It was like he was going back to the sound of the 'naive' sounding ballads on his first two albums. Stylewise they contrast a lot with the other material on the album... or... maybe that entire album was a (hit or miss) mess anyway.. lol

Anyway, a decent song, surely no classic or masterpiece, but still miles better then a comparable song like Walk in the sand from 20ten.

I think they're completely different. Damn U sounds like a retro soul/R&B song, and Sweet Baby is more like an adult-contemporary/pseudo-new age kind of thing...

Yes suger is bad for me,

cuz I have diabetes, sugar disease whatever it's called in english

oh and this is a weak ballad. Not in my top 20 Prince ballads.. sorry.

I never used to like it but now I like it a lot....its definately a grower....

Not one of my favorites, but love the rest of the album.

I think the real reason y I don't like Sweet Baby

cuz of the video/chain'o' gold.
