Has Prince ever been approached or been considered for doing the film music to a James Bond movie? If not it would have been really cool to hear what he could come up with. Since he did such a fantastic job with Batman and is so much recognized for his work I think it´s a bit strange if he hasn´t been asked, don´t u think?? And James Bond would suit him 2 making music 4.

I can't hear him singing a Bond tune, but he could have written something for a woman to sing.

Back in the day of course, when he still had songwriting skills.

I thought this was going 2 have something 2 do with him playing it during "Kiss" on the Nude Tour.

There are only a few Bond themed songs that have transcended their respective movie, McCartney's Live and Let Die and Carly Simon's Nobody Does It Better, the others with the movie's title as the name of the song are never played outside of their time. He's more than capable of writing one that fits the movie's theme and could stand alone as a single but does he have the motivation?

The sound of "Love is a Losing Game" on the Winehouse album has a true James bond title song feel as does the drama with which Prince covers it. If there was an arrangement by Prince with the orchestral strings likein the original, it would be a great James Bond song.

Really disagree with u there. IMHO I believe that writing a Bond theme would be perfect for Prince. I think the feel and mood in a song like "Old Friends 4 Sale" for instance could´ve been a Bond song, and actually also (when I think about it) a great title for a film with that name. Could´ve been great.

But I can hear Prince sing a Bond song today as well, and to say that he does not have the ability to write an amazing song today is crazy. I am definately sure that if he was approached and given the offer to do so, and he felt motivated and really wanted to do it like someone else said, he could write a classic bond theme - and I would NOT have someone else sing it. PRINCE should sing it!

Well, I guess we can say that we can agree to disagree. Because I think it would be extremely exciting to see what he could come up with. But you will probably get your wish though, cause´I doubt it will happen. And "Old Friends 4 Sale" could for me have been a Bond song

Personally, I'd love for him to do it. I liked the bond themes from A-HA, Duran Duran, Paul McCartney and a few others. Any chance to get people out there talking about him again, and a hi profile hit record would be a good thing for the fans. I'm tired of explaining to people that he has been releasing albums for years and hasn't gone into retirement!

could have been Shirley Bassey, could have been John Barry's strings.

Mr. Noway, I'll give you that Old Friends 4 Sale could have been in a Bond-film, but not as the theme song.

As for Prince singing a theme song - just imagine him singing Thunderball or Golden Eyes, or The World Is Not Enough... I'm sorry but I can't, it's just not his genre.

If John Barry was there for production/collab yes.

I've heard that Adele is doing the next Bond theme.
