Yes, you are the last to know.
And this is the better version, by far. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's terrrrrrrible!
The only remake on GB that isn't better than the original is Can't Stop This... (although it's still good). Stop the Prince Apologists ™

Anyone who wasn't yet born when the original was recorded needs to sit down now. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Are you the same people who prefer the Hallway version of Computer Blue, loooooove Another Lonely Christmas and Girl (especially the 12 inches of course) and think For You is a 5 star album? Stop the Prince Apologists ™

Poor Butterfly Who..Dont Understand." P

Love this! However, if this is a Controversy outtake then it would have been 1981 not 80.

Yup.
The original version of "Tick, Tick, Bang" was recorded in the summer of 1981 at Prince's Lake Riley house. The original version of "Let's Work" entitled "Let's Rock" was recorded around the same time, as was "Annie Christian". |

^ Thank you. I thought that was the case! I wonder why P changed 'Let's Rock' to 'Let's Work', i think Let's Rock would have made more sense!!! [Edited 9/9/11 16:25pm]

The story goes that "The Rock" was a new dance craze happening in early-to-mid 1981, and Prince wanted to the put the song out as a one-off single to capitalize on it, but Warner Bros said no. By the time the album was finished and ready to release in the fall, the craze had passed and so Prince decided to change the lyrics and title. |

That's an interest factoid.... You may have to take the reins over from Per who is looking for someone to take over his work!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It sounds more like Sexuality or Sister than those others you mentioned. Tamborine is also similar in it's furiousness. That is serious xxx New Wave could have worked easily on Dirty Mind or Controversy

Why would he be the one? That's actually a well-known (among plenty of us hardcores) "factoid", as you like to call it.

Not jealous are you? Well he came up with those facts/info so I figured maybe if he has the wide Prince knowledge he should consider it. Per has even said that he would assist anyone willing to take over the tasks or doing a follow up to DMSR by providing all the info he has... [Edited 9/9/11 21:47pm]
