I'll be trippin once Prince decides to release a 10 disc
box set of vault material for $100,- in year 3 of npgmc. Have him throw in a free-b double album of all new studio songs cut with the new band. and I might even do a little dance. For anything else, I just can't be bothered at the moment. ONA LIVE is the 1st ever Prince album that I've had for about 2 months now and not even played completely. It bores the liver out of me every time I listen to it and the parts that aren't boring are irritating. I liked the initial idea better, that of the 5 song EP released early 2002. So spare us a DVD, especially if it's possibly gonna be a part of the npgmc, cuz I've had enough showerheads & softfruits, it's time for some old fashioned cock now. ok, that's perhaps not the best comparison, but hey... and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

Nope haven't seen it, but I've seen more than enough ONA shows to know it sucks, especially if it's that last Las Vegas gig, that was just a lame ass show... Unless it's the Spirit, Bataclan or Nighttown gig in it's entirety without overdubs and shitty edits... But everyone knows that this will not be the case cos it'll be a "regular" lame ONA gig probably edited a la that horrible and embarrasing "Rave Un2 the Year 2000" DVD... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

In addtion, there was nothing lame about the ONA gigs. Even critics who have no reason to praise anything that Prince does gave the show great reviews and almost all of the shows were sellouts. | |

Maybe so... But IMO the Dublin, Rotterdam and Paris shows were all much better than that Las Vegas gig and more worthy of a DVD release... That Las Vegas gig was nothing special IMO... Everyone who posted about it raved that it was the best of the entire tour.
They probably haven't seen the Antwerp soundcheck/show... In addtion, there was nothing lame about the ONA gigs. Even critics who have no reason to praise anything that Prince does gave the show great reviews and almost all of the shows were sellouts.
That don't mean dick... The '95 Ultimate Live Experience shows weren't sellouts and were lambasted by critics, but those were some of the most amazing shows of the '90's... Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O

I think the sensible answer is that those who are excited about the DVD have done a little trippin' already after the clip came on MSN, but as there's been nothing more since about it, they're cooling it until something actually happens. That's my take on it. I would love this DVD if it happens. And that's the point, IF it happens. Damn Neversin, u are one negative mofo. | |
