Is this true? In 2005 did Prince really ban people from his site if they talked bad about Michael Jackson? Would be interesting to know...can anyone help me out with this?

As far as I remember during that time there were some really mean comments on MJ popping up on the NPGMC board and the mods did issue a statement more or less requesting people to refrain from using "foul language" and posting judgmental comments.

^ Yes i remember that....I don't think it was just because of MJ though - there was also that kind of stuff going on right before they closed the NPGMC down which made some suspect those negative comments had something to do with the closure.

you couldn't say anything negative at all about anything on the NPGMC boards before being locked or deleted by the mods.

I liked the 2003-2006 NPGMC incarnation its a shame it got closed....but yep I think Prince got too annoyed by all the forum dissent....

Agreed. It was like a cult. An incredibly creepy, insular cult.

For anyone who wasn't around to experience it, you know all those fucked-up nonsence threads that fuckwits post on here that get locked pretty much straight away? Well imagine a forum full of those and you're halfway there.

There were some cool people on there, but they were definitely in the minority.
