You never know when you're going to need a symbol guitar, so you're better off having plenty of them.
He's probably going to sell the other two.

Making 3 guitars doesn't take 3 times as long as making 1 guitar. If you set up all the tools and machines the first time it's very quick just to stick in another piece of wood and do the same process. [Edited 9/9/11 12:41pm] | |

2. Why poplar? I made the template. I found a picture of a symbol guitar next to a cloud and hohner the prince. I have a friend who has a cloud and hohner ( who asked me to build the symbol guitar ) and enlarged the image on a photo copier until the cloud and hohner were life size. I then printed it off and made jigs from Mdf. It's much smaller than I expected. | |

2. Why poplar? Oh and poplar as it's easy to carve, readily available, has s great tone like ash just has horrible green bits. But when it's sprayed purple it'll look awesome! I know prince's was made from antique maple but it's too expensive and heavy. The pickups give you 90% of the tone anyway. | |

Batman cloud sounds great Cam.....do you mean the black one that was in the Batdance video or the blue angel that had the bat symbols between the frets?
