Now there are two things that seemed kind of apparent to me:

1. It would have been absolutely impossible for him to NOT know who Prince was. PR was the biggest tour that year, a hit movie, and a mega-selling album. Everyone was talking about Prince performing that night, and half of the damned audience was dressed as Prince.

2. Huey appeared to actively dislike Prince.

Am I the only person who noticed this? Did Huey have some kind of beef with Prince?

I also remember a clip of Kurt Loder trying to defend Prince to him but Huey couldn't get over Prince's "cocky attitude." I think Lewis viewed Prince as the Kanye West of that era. It pissed me off then, but now I kinda see his point.

I really don`t c the point in discussing this (but I get the drift from the question though, I remember that dissing tone from H.Lewis. But hey, COME ON, H.Lewis (and the ... News (?)) were probably an ok 80`s band....but 2 even compare or mention H.Lewis in the same topic or discussion with Prince....is just 2 silly. As an ARTIST, MUSICIAN, PERFORMER, PRODUCER, ARRANGER etc.etc.etc., think of it : PRINCE versus H.Lewis (and the....News(?)) doesn`t deserve 2 even be mentioned.

I don't know if this has been mentioned,but Huey Lewis performed with Prince onstage before.This was in 1987 during the SOTT era.He and Chaka Khan joined Prince onstage during one of his aftershows.Does anyone know the exact gig I'm referring to?
