Which post 92 album should I play in my car 2moz?

Hello all,

I'm Ricon and I'm a reformed Princeaholic.

I was mad on the little fella for years until the symbol album (blue light was just one song too far). However, after discovering the org and attempting to recapture my youth deciding that I ought to give Prince one more try I've been listening to his more recent stuff (past 18 years!) on the way to work and I've been plesantly surprised by some of it. I've listened to 20ten and musicology and really enjoyed them both, some issues with the odd tune (everybody loves me!).

So orgers, what shall i play on the way to work tomorrow? over to you! smile

MPLSound or Lotusflow3r, if that's too recent then NPG Exodus or The Gold Experience.

Crystal Ball is also a good one for the car.

P.S Are you sure you're reformed if you are on a Prince fan site asking which Prince songs to play?! wink

Its good you are honest, I wish Bart and co would admit this too!! wink

Perhaps 'lapsed' is a more accurate description!

lotusflow3er is supposed to be a bit rockier isn't it? that might well make my burn list for the morning....

Post '92 huh....? Not my favorite era.

Come, The Rainbow Children, Musicology & 3121 are by far my favorites of the past 19 years.

But, be warned.. Each of these albums has a few bombs on it.

I'd say The Rainbow Children might be the only one I can listen to all the way through.

Oh... MPLSsound is pretty good too.

I'd say listen to all of them, and make yourself your own opinion, and have fun smile

Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''
If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

For the car, I'd agree with The Gold Experience and/or Lotusflow3r.

At home, if you like jazz-infused work, check out The Rainbow Children. If you like that and aren't scared off by instrumental albums, track down N.E.W.S, Xpectation and C-Note (they're not for everyone though).

It absolutely has to be The Gold Experience. His best album since Sign O' The Times in my opinion.

I actually consider myself a bit of a lapsed fan, too. Come and Chaos and Disorder wore me out in the early '90's. So I didn't really hear The Gold Experience, Emancipation and the rest until recently. Emancipation suprised me with some decent tracks (actually, half of the album's 36 songs are pretty solid).

Anyway, if you haven't experienced "Endorphinmachine," "Shh" and "Eye Hate U" yet (all on the Gold Experience, btw), then experience it NOW!

This is the sort of thing that the Condorcet polling project might be useful for. The consensus choice here would be The Gold Experience:

Forget everything above. Instead start with the first album you missed and listen to them chronologically till you're caught up. It's the only way to get a good perspective of the musical journey.

IMO, of course... wink

interesting idea, but then I'd be starting off where I finished last time, and I'd only get an album or 2 in before i remembered why I stopped listening!

I got a lift in this morning so I didn't listen to owt, tomorrow morning is the day, so it's looking like either the gold experience or lotusflow3r unless soemone wants to convince me otherwise lol
