"All My Dreams" Is A Hell Of A Nod To Sly Stone.

You can tell by the voice that he had Sly Stone in him at that moment.

The horns and the keyboards are very Sly Stone.

I'm on a Sly Stone high right now.

Prince sounds just like Sly in the song below.

-The truth is Prince is way too modest when it comes to the Greats, even Miles has said that is like,

-JB, Jimi H, Marvin G, Charlie C.

-That is the other 50%. biggrin

^ There's slight references to Marvin's work in Prince's music. It's not as visible as some others.

By the way he don't sound nothing like Sly in the song. It's just simply vintage Prince.

I don't see Marvin in Prince either, but didn't Prince record Got To Give It Up? Or is my memory Playing tricks on me again?

Wrong.

All My Dreams was intended for Under the Cherry Moon. It's meant to be reminiscent of 1920s cheese. It's Prince's homage to crooning - Rudy Vallee, not Sly Stone.

the same point your dumbass was making...that there's an obvious nod. Exact same vocal modualtions in the 2 tunes and guitar sound as well.

the post was an example of atypical sly influence on a Prince song.

not a typo..."atypical"

Tell that to Genesia. She thinks it's no Sly influence.

And is all the name calling need?

"what's your point," was your question? along with the other thread...

listen...

I'm not trying to be elitist. It's gonna sound that way...but it's not.

your're a younger kat, listening his way thru the world. Cool, I dig that. There are older people here with knowledge U might want. Don't spend so much time defending your "position/opinion' as U do and spend more time learning. Just a suggestion. A kindhearted honest one.

What?

I'm defending my opinion with this thread because I'm right. I listen and take advice when I know nothing about the subject I'm talking about. With this subject, I know what I'm talking about.

How come you didn't tell Genesia the same thing you told me? She said there was no Sly influence in the song, and I said it was and you still call me a dumbass...come on now.

the bolded word is exactly what I'm talking about. I RIGHT. Genesia ...your expeience with music is invalid cuz I'M RIGHT!

Not so speak badly of genesia...but I assume she's much older than U. I'm also awre I value her opinion about music muc more than yours. Sound waves have been hitting her eardrums in her sleep longer than u've been alive.

"why didn't U say this to genesia"...WHO GIVES A FUCK...U sound like a 5 year old whinig about who got what and why. U might as well have said "wah wah wah wah wah!"

I didn't say this to Genesia, tbh, because I didn't hear a similarity. I was giving U an example of what I thought u were speaking to. if there is one in your proposition...it isn't a "Hell of A" one for sure.

So, age has nothing to do with it. I know just as much as these older people.

And these statements makes no sense what so ever. What you mean "you didn't hear a similarity"...similarity from what? The video I posted or the video she posted.
