for me i have 2 say that both prince and david sylvian are equally great and probably the only 2 that have a unique and varied sound throughout their respective careers. both these these artistis have connected with me for most of my life and still offer something new and challenging and exciting. its all about creativity and doing what they believe in and not conforming to the norm. Get up come on lets do something don't u wanna know the word?

Just listening to Prince's Te Amo Corazon confirms that. It's such a fascinating idea, though to combine these two.

I find it weird that forum member Prince fans overall doesn't rate him as their top artist. This is different from other artists
Prince vocals: at best he is doing things with his voice that could sound like Sly Stone, James Brown and Kate Bush at once. Well not excatly, but his variation in vocal use while still sounding 100% Prince is amazing. And no matter if he doesn't have the smoothness and softness of michael, power of james brown, rawness of howlin wolf, he sure has an outastanding and broad understanding of vocal use, where he easily blends punk, soul, rnb, rock, gospel and pop without making it sound like he's trying to do it. It comes naturally to him. He's not a poser and not a purist. He is not the best vocalist at each technique, but overall the most interresting and exciting one imo. Sly had more potential technically, but Prince had the nerve to actually test it. Prince wins! Btw, I love that his voice literally crawls out the speakers My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

Bolan was NOT a musical genius. He could barely play his guitar. Calling Bolan a musical genius is like calling Tom Petty a musical genius. He wrote a few catchy songs with totally meaningless lyrics all based on very slight changes to boogie-woogie chords progressions. Otherwise, that's a pretty good list.

It's just my personal opinion. Thanks though.

I'm not sure I have enough time to devote to a list such as this, but I can say that IF Santana made it into my top 100 it would be on the strength of his first 3 albums ONLY. His latest efforts have been commercially HUGE while remaining artistically USELESS.
Hell, his association with Rob Thomas almost got him banned from reality by the Lords of Karma.

Perhaps they are using the "scorpions" as in to cleanse the palate. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
