I like how Lovesexy and TBA are getting some love

Do you like them just because you want to be original and special? Or do you honestly think that these are his 5 best albums? THem being underrated did nothing to you rating them higher just to be controversial? Around The World In A Day is easily in my top 5. The others however are not. I know, but you know in advance that they're going to be controversial. Give it a rest, then come back with a bang.

I actually like these album. They fit my music taste better than the ones I said are not in my top 5.
If I wanted to be different, I'll put Chaos and Disorder at the two spot.

Like they haven't already?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I honestly don't. I seriously thought it would get two pages at least. And I thought I'll get disrespected a couple of times. But that wasn't the case.

You'd have to have a sense though, right? I mean, the Parade thread...just wondering...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't get how some people think Tylers threads are controversial, he is about as controversial as a cup of tea. I guess the meaning of being controversial means different things on either side of the atlantic, over here Tyler is not controversial........he's just an arse.

What do you mean by sense?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't think he's controversial either lol

Woah! Where did this come from? I thought we were cool?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The album itself is not too manstream or commercial. The movie and marketing make it a mainstream hit with the public. So you are letting other people's reactions discourage you from listening to one of Prince's best albums..that just sad.
You need to start to think for yourself and you will enjoy life more.

We are as cool as a block of ice boytyler, i'm just saying....this you being controversial is just nonsense.

Well luckily, he claims that Parade is one of his favorite Prince albums though he made that "my friends think it's overrated" thread not too long ago. But idk it does sound like he's impressionable by other people's comments about the album...don't let hipsters tell you what's cool to listen to or not. Mainstream is not a bad thing entirely anyways.

It has nothing to do with "other people reactions". It;s just that Purple Rain is so mainstream. Like if you ask a none Prince fan, to name a Prince song, their going to say "Purpl Rain", because it's so mainstream an big.
I still listen to the album. Like every 4 months.

You are one contradictory muthafukka. You just said how much you loved that album in the vs. thread against Thriller. If you barely listen to the album how can you have enough judgment to say that Purple Rain is better? I would respect you more for this thread if you said you couldn't decide between the, two, or didn't care for MJ much. YOu're just trying to stir up stuff. Now that I know you're true colours, I am done with your threads. PEACE out N166A "I took another bubble bath, with my pants on. All the fighting stopped. Next time I’ll do it sooner.”

But you called me an "arse" ahaha
Yeah we're cool, but damn. Your going to diss your boy like that?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No need for name calling. I've listen to Purple Rain enough times in the spand of 3 years to have a "judgment" on it.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Wait... I'm just noticing what Bunny is saying:
In the Purple Rain vs. Thriller thread, he bigged up Purple Rain but then next breath he says he doesn't listen to it because it's "too mainstream."
Ooooooookay. Which is it, bruh?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You never said it was a masterpiece but based on your implication it seemed as if you did not think it was. Haha
You Said:
"Same with Purple Rain, it's too commercial. I know he was aiming for but...
I still love the album, but I can't listen to it without feeling like a bandwagoner."
Outside of it being mainstream there isn't reason to really consider it bad. It's like Michael Jackson's "Thriller". I think it is an extremely well album and I highly receive it, it's the most sold album so obviously it is the most mainstream; especially back in the day when it was out. I am sure people loved it for what it was, but they played the hell out of it. AND they still do, and for this reason I can not even listen to the songs "Thriller Or Billie Jean" because it's overplayed. It does not mean they are good, because they are exceptional; I can only listen to it watching Michael perform it; though. Nevertheless they are great songs; just extremely popular which may have something to do with why I can't dig it. I can't say the same for Purple Rain though, I never get tired of "Purple Rain"; especially since when he performs it live as with everything else he re-arranges it. Nothing on the CD Purple Rain is really known by massive people besides "When Doves Cry" "The Beautiful Ones" "Darling Nikki and of course "Purple Rain"...(Then again I can't say that? TOTALLY lol) What I mean is that; when people listen to Purple Rain they think of at least 3 singles, etc from the album. Most people who know MJ only know him by his hits: Beat It, Billie Jean, and Thriller. But what I am saying is besides the point...I am not here to talk about MJ or Prince..lol. What I simply saying is that mainstream albums can sometimes be avoided because the extreme popularity....Not disagreeing with you at all man. It's Button Therapy, Baby!

My exact quote:
"Why you single me out? ahaha Purple Rain isn't my cup of tea either, but I'll take it over Thriller.
I dig "Computer Blue", "Darling Nikki" is so-so to me."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You kind of know what's going to happen....
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Ease up boytyler, where I come from being called an arse would be the least of your worries, think of it as an affectionate term.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
OK, we gonna have to fight. "Darling Nikki" is genius. But I think if it wasn't your cup of tea, you wouldn't be listening to it anyways. You need to give Thriller a chance though.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You should've told him "it's a UK thing" lol
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, not really. If I had the intention of creating a "controversial" thread, it wouldn't be like one of the threads I created so far.
Like sometimes, I just make a thread about the last thing I thought about, and people are saying it's a "bait thread". IDK, maybe I just think negative stuff all the time.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
yes...hehe.
