The packaging is cool, but this release doesn't exactly excite me. I already have a very clear version of The Undertaker, so what makes this one so special? How much better is it than what's already been released, especially since there are no extra "gems" included?

I had a nice clean version of this too but this is a welcome addition in any case. Any impovements that are made are welcome imo, no matter how small.

I guess this will divide people who a) think there is no difference, or b) people who think it's the dogs bollocks and a great release.

And at the end of the day, it's free, and a great addition to anyones collection who may not already have this.

I'm no audiophile, I have a good hi-fi and that's it, but to my ears this just sounds nice and bright, sounds a bit clearer than the version I had before.

It's nice to have, I guess it will depend on your equipment, as I said i'm no audio wizard.

I've been saying for the longest that this boot needed a proper remastering. T4P.

Man, how awesome would it have been if The Undertaker had been included with Guitar World? I think a lot of they heavy-guitar-rock snobs who've underestimated Prince's ability to tear up a guitar and ROCK would have gained a new level of respect for him. I remember reading comments online after Prince played "Fury" on SNL. Some folks seemed absolutely surprised that Prince was that good a guitarist, even though it's been evident for ages.

And giving away The Undertaker for free would have only sparked more interest in the official WB release of the Gold Experience. They're both entirely different albums, stylistically, so it's not like they'd be competing against each other, per se, or like Prince would be saturating the market.

Nothing can beat the official promo CD that I have ...

This looks interesting and I never have picked up a clean copy of this. It's actually kind of weird. I haven't been grabbing boots for almost 10 years now and maybe I should dip my toes back in the water (for a while there it seemed like the same stuff being released over and over and over again just on different labels) but realize I'm completely clueless about current methods of doing this... must research, I guess!

This sounds great. I have never been a huge huge fan of The Undertaker, but this release is just really cool. It has brought new life into it, for me, and I've had it playing since the moment it was whispered in my ear today.

Also, I dig the artwork. Awesome lil easter egg for us hardcore P-nerds.

This is actually an unauthorized bootleg of a 1994 CD that Prince intended to release at that time with the November 1994 issue of Guitar World magazine. The CD was manufactured in a small quantity but the magazine was distributed without the CD attached as Warner Bros had Prince "destroy" the discs.

The above mentioned unauthorized bootleg includes a PDF of the magazine as a sort of "what if". Since this is a bootleg, it can't be mentioned here as to where it can be obtained, but it is absolutely free, CD-quality and in download form only. All you need is a web connection.
