I do. -Hot Summer is perfect to do the dance 'the twist' on and Purple and Gold has an old school feel to it, like a letterman sweater.

And CAUSE AND EFFECT makes me want to get a hula hoop, those cool ones that has lights inside that blink a rainbow of colors and start the routine.

I kinda like this one. | |

Me too. I liked the preview snippet and got my hopes up, then heard the full version and it just didn't live up to the preview. I like the Dolly Parton-esque vocal melody , I like the instrumentation... I just can't stand that 'hey, hey!' part.
I might have a go at editing it down, see if it works better without the bits that annoy me. blah blah blah

I found a way to get into 20ten. Some of the songs are nice to hear while you lay down in bed with a pair of HUGE ear monitors or what you call them. With the lights off, I think almost half the album is pretty damn good. My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah

I like it, even the "hey" part. The riff is great.

Yes, one game he definately plays is namechecking unreleased tracks in his released songs, plenty of examples of that in pretty much every album he ever did...it may be deliberate or more likely it could be because he actually planned to release those songs as part of the same album originally.
A couple of examples (there are many many more)
Diamonds and Pearls: Push > Horny Pony Rave:Hot Wit U > Underneath the Cream

No, not really but I think if Purple and Gold wasn't about football it would be cool, i like it musically (did you recognise the beat is similar to that from Paisley Park) its just the lyrics are so corny..i love the sung harmonies on it though. Hot summer is ok but I wouldn't rave about it. [Edited 8/13/11 10:52am]

^- -I like how he plays with his songs like that. -It seems like a never ending story or plot to something much better and greater than it already is.

^ Yes I think you are right on that! I think one day it will be revealed that he has this huge master code buried in all his work

^- -So true. Prince himself is a walking secret-code.

Is it a boot or off a recent album?
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

^- -On Feb. 26, 2010, Twin Cities radio station 89.3 The Current debuted this song.

I *think* my problem with this track is that the multi-layered vocals don't really fit the energy of a pop-rock song.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah, I think you are kinda right. It would have sounded better if layered differently (in more distinctly different voices) or not at all.

I like this song but not as much as the material from the 2010 album. Still playin those songs a lot over a year later. Lotta love for these songs.

I'm the opposite....don't play 20TEN just this song....

-I can't get this song out of my head. -It just has a, '2 be continued..' feel to it.
