You have to realise that some jokes do not translate well on the internet. Some people on here actually did seriously think that Prince isn't funky, you know.

Just realised only now that my post didn't appear - sorry - it's not the crack! Anyway, what I wanted to say is why do some here on the org not consider Prince to be a real funkster? Is it because he's been a pop star during his career that undermines his true funk credentials or perhaps his skin tone isn't dark enough like James Brown, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins or Sly Stone. Prince has always defied categorisation but that doesn't mean that he can't play funk (or jazz or rock) as defined by the narrow parameters of the purists.
