Absolutely one song he should've put out himself in the 90's. Would have be a true hit. Doesn't have that particular Prince sound, which makes it so good and unique. __________________________________________________

Not one of his best ballads IMO.
The intentions are 'there', but the songwriting isnt.
I think he was going for some acoustic Michael Franks / Joan Baez / Joni Mitchell kind of thing 'soundwise', but the composition simply isnt strong enough to be really compelling.
He nailed it better in 1986, with 'Sometimes it snows in april'.
