i took the npg operators off tge, and "everybody loves me" off 20ten (and made laydown the first track instead of last, cause i think it fits better there). i also took 12 songs off emancipation and made it 10x better, imo.

I did exactly that myself. If you listen to 20Ten on repeat, then there's a big gap before Laydown and afterwards it goes straight to Compassion, so for the 2nd run through it feels like the first track, so it feels kind of sensible to have it as the first.

I hate Sea Of Everything and love Hot Summer, so I swithced those. Then I stuck Cause & Effect on the end for a much better closer. Everybody Loves Me is still there though as I love it, it's fun. smile

I think most of us can probably drop 12 from Emancipation and make it better. The beauty of it though is that almost everybody would have a different list. That's why I love that Emancipation was a 3 disc set because we can all choose our favourites. If it was a single disc release it could easily be filled with 12 tracks that I really don't like!

Cause & Effect lists quite a few of the 20ten track titles in its lyrics, like 'Push' did on D&P and NewPower Sould did on NPS. It sounds like it was meant to be on the album, probably as the opening track. I think it may have been dropped after the negative comments. Same with Hot Summer.

Have you heard 'Rich Friends'? That's another you can add to the list for 20Ten. Though I'm not sure any of thse tracks are any better than what was released on the album.

Stay away from Purple & Gold at all costs. It'll make your ears bleed.

yeahthat I say the same for "Rich Friends" That song is just embarassing..lol. It goes to the playlist; "Prince...?" Which means..what was Prince doing/thinking/ when he did this? Haha

I don't think of it as embarassing but it's certainly not a track I've pulled up and played recently. Come to think of it, can't even really remember how it goes. Will give it a spin tomorrow.

Never mind, there's so much stuff out there and they weren't exactly proper releases. But I'm not sure if you need to spend more time in the box hiding in shame or not. lol

I just added "Make It Through The Storm" to For You!

It's 10 times better.

You really aren't. LOL. Check it out, you will just be like..WHAT IS THIS? I am listening to it now, and I can't take it and it has only been 1:30 into the song and there is still another 4 minutes to go. lol. The songs would be better if it wasn't for the lyrics and the production.

[Edited 8/11/11 12:11pm]

All of that is PERFECT. Hell, I may steal your idea and make it my own.

I would, however, change around TGE. I'd take out Dolphin and add PC. Dolphin is a good song, it just really doesn't fit in all of that, or at least in my opinion, anyway.

But other than that--DAMN, that's good!

^ thanks man and yeah you can steal it from me lol. thumbs up! actually I've also got playlists bringing all his post 80's albums down to 8 or 9 songs, like most of his 80's albums were too. Then they are getting really strong. wanna know too what I did to musicology and 3121? lol...

haha yeah I agree they do, so I made this out of the two:

  1. Musicology
  2. Cinnamon Girl
  3. A Million Days
  4. Dear Mr. Man
  5. Te Amo Corazón
  6. Love
  7. The Word
  8. The Dance
  9. Lolita
  10. 3121

kinda like it myself. biggrin

^ Well, you definitely got the filler out. You're good at this.

Of course, I'd take The Dance out and throw Call My Name on, but yeah, other than that, perfect. Maybe it's just me, but I love that song.

Thanks again man. I like doing this stuff and listening to his 90's albums as if they were released on lp format in the 80's. They sound so much stronger like that. But oh no wait now... you can't take the Dance out and replace it with Call my name! shake lol

I like it better. I can't explain why, because I've tried, but just something about Call My Name I like better. I think it's the vocal performance on it that I prefer.
