How big part of Prince's sound you think are the synthisizers?

Would he made it if he used only guitars and hammond organs

with no synths?

I do not particularly like the synth Mr Hayes is using these days (Open synth?)

I miss the old 90's time of the "Japanese" engineered type like JD800.

Big fat bass sound on space universal love remix,

Mesmerizing hate you remix,

Or what about the beautiful chords of TMBGITW?

The tight harpsichord on pheromon ?

Not to mention the over cool wailing guitar cutting thru Superhero live performance (also JD800).

I guess on emancipation he changed a little, but still kept a JD in the rack, at least until 2000.

I do not know, I do not get that funky with the latest sound I heard, maybe Prince is less precise, maybe he is using American / European engineered synthesizers?

I miss Tommy B. and his wurlitzer as well…

94 was just the perfect era, best souding analog Hammond and wurlitzer mixed with loads of digital samples (including horn heads) that was funky!

And shame on Renato Neto, his giggle sound just gave me headache; I can do better after a spicy meal.

They played a huge part into Prince's development and sound over the years. I can't imagine Prince without synths actually. That's how big.

Synths definitely formed a huge part of his sound...though I do miss the old big synths from back in the 80's and 90's ...now a days they sound really thin.. at least to my ears and from what I have heard..though I definitely love the fact that he brought it back and isn't using horns.. I don't mind the horns but he over did it with the horns for a couple of years .. it's nice to see a stripped down band again..
