What songs by prince are the weirdest? Many of his most hated songs are very original and sounds like nothing else, or they're just simply weird because they don't fit his style or sounds goofy. But often they annoy people and many of them are given the lowest rates. But at the same time they are often explaing his originality and weirdness that would give color to many other more "basic" but great songs.

Here are some of mine. I'm not asking for 10 bad songs, or 10 good songs. Just 10 weird songs, they can be good or bad. But they have to be weird, as in WTF?

for some reason his weird songs are usually my favorites. its a shame a lot of my friends cant get passed the weird levels of some of these songs, theyre pretty brilliant

Just my opinion, of course. Interestingly, I had a hard time coming up with 'bad' weird songs, and had to pull out my collection to finally get seven to balance out the seven 'good' weird, which came immediately to mind. I could name 'good' weird Prince songs all day!

You put on "Something in the Water" and people go, wtf? That's my #1 all-time favorite Prince song, though and has been for years now.

I love "Tamborine"; in recent months, that's found its way onto my list of favorite Prince songs, too.

Now, I'm with you on "God". That's another one that, if you put it on, you should expect people to give you a weird look .

Come on, that's part of the territory of being a Prince fan. He always does something different and throws a musical curve ball; after "Purple Rain" he did "Around the World in a Day" - NOT what people expected.

Actually the fact that you seemed surprised that he did that is the weird thing, to me.

God is BRILLIANT! Regardless of what others may think or feel it is!

Something can be weird to the public, but be a great song at the same time. Prince is weird period in many eyes and ears. God won't change that

However I consider God one of his biggest classics, and think it would be perfect on the Purple Rain album if it wasn't for the movie. And why should a soundtrack only have the songs that is on the movie? No surprices?

Arms of Orion is a WTF really bad weird song.

Also a great weird song is Computer Blue.....

I really like Make Yo Mama Happy! Also don't mind Human Body, New World, or Poom poom all that much either. Solo & Orgasm are the ones I can't get through so I'll say that is the only weird ones I consider BAD. But generally I like when he gets weird and freaky...its the unconventional part that drew me in the first place.

Eyewish---this is a great list (but I actually liked Human Body and New World) I'd add Paisley Park to the Good Weird list and glad you gave props to NEWS which is a brilliant album IMO

WELL! This is an awesome thread! I know I am not the only one, who feels a lot of Prince songs are "weird." I say they are genius, but weird when first hearing them because they don't sound like anything anyone else would ever create. Haha..Even after a couple of listens you realize this is something Prince could only do. Their many of them which I love, but often wonder..WHAT was he thinking or mean by this?? Haha I love the expansion of his mind in these dimensions though...It reminds me of myself being weird, and I don't mind it at all. It shows the depth of his mind. Weird and strange things are always the most creative. Haha
