Hmmm, during those days I would think that he wouldnt mind.

I imagine he is a bit more tolerant towards the reefer for non-singing members of his band these days. Musicians should not do coke, no matter how much fun it seems like at the time.

Well, we know Prince is a control freak who docked $500 from Wendy's paycheck just because she stepped outside her hotel room door with a beer in her hand in Sheridan, Wyoming.

This is the incident that lead to W&L wanting to quit the band and Prince having to send Bobby to the airport to keep them from leaving until the Parade tour was finished (at which point Prince 'fired' them to pretend it was his idea ).

No inside stories...but it seems to me he goes out of his way for giving love and support to people suffering and/or fighting the disease of addiciton. To me he seems to show extraordinary patience and sympathy. Look how long he's been with Chaka. He tried to give Whitney Houston a chance but kicked her off the stage and out of the arena when she came on cracked-out of her mind and then wouldn't let Chaka up on stage a few songs later presumably cause she had partied with Whitney. He reached out to Amy Winehouse when he was in London and his reaction to her was something like "I'm going to shed some tears." It was well reported his bodyguard Big Chick went MIA due to his coke habit, used to sell Prince's rehearsals and studio outtakes to support his habit, sold him out to Enquirer to get more cash for his coke habit, yet Prince still held a benefit concert for him. I think he really understands and respects the disease. He performs MJ songs now and rarely (if ever) did before MJ succumbed to the disease. I think he tries to save people with th edisease of addiction even if its only for the few minutes he performs with them.

With regards to this issue, I really admire Prince's courage to reach out to addicts. I love his tribute to her but even more so his performance with Amy in London. You rock P!

IIRC, in some book (Possessed maybe? I ain't sure), it's said that a guitarist was about to have the job for P's first band after he jammed with them, then the poor dude ruined his opportunity by offering P & the band some coke or weed, and Dez got the job instead.
