Best Bootleg DVD's?

What are some of the best Prince bootleg DVD's floating around out there?

Which shows are considered the best?

I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANYONE TO GIVE ME ANY, I AM SIMPLY DISCUSSING THEM PER THE RULES.

First Avenue, 08-03-1983 is one of the best and most popular ones, but I'm not sure what the name of any DVD releases are. The show includes the first ever performances of some Purple Rain songs, plus the unreleased song "Electric Intercourse".

Where to begin?

As mentioned elsewhere, Tokyo '90 from Fullasoul is probably the best version of that show, great quality, pro-shot, killer show, it has it all. There are many versions of it but Fullasouls is the one you need.

Another top Nude Tour dvd is La Coruna-The Right Way...Again, it is currently the best quality version of that show in circulation.

Another toper from Fullasoul/Superball is the essential Livesexy Uncut which is the amazing Lovesexy Live concert that was released officially but not on dvd.

The Makings Of Rain and Syracuse & The World both from Fullasoul are two amazing Purple Rain era shows, both pro-shot and both the best quality available anywhere right now.

Cobo Arena '86 from GSH/Pimpsandwich is another must have, it also has an extra song tagged on to the end that was not in the original broadcast.

New Years Eve 87 from Habibi is another great show, there are a few versions of this, but I only have Habibi's so I cant comment on the others, but quality is great.

As for more recent stuff, you could go no wrong than Lotus TV-The Right Way, again, there are a couple of versions of this, but stick with the "Right Way" version...it's by far the best, great chaptering, very slick and 95% taken from HD broadcast so quality is way up there.

Madrid - El Septimo from Superball is another top show and has the amazing take on Motherless Child, this is the full show.

Other notable releases are 3121 The Jams, Emacipation Day from Digital Funk Bitch, and 2KTV Vol 1 & 2 from Brave.

All these are good starting points imo, there is a shitload more though, but I don't have the time right now to go into them,

Good luck with your hunt.

For me:

Dirty mind: New York/Paris. Considering how old these shows are the quality on both is fantastic and show case old school prince whilst he was touring clubs and small venues

Controversy: Houston summit. Awesome awesome show which is professionally shot and a rad hazy but still incredible, featuring private joy :D

1999: Houston summit/Minneapolis homecoming. The first being professionally shot featuring a funky Automatic but stopping there and then unfortunately. Then the latter being a full show shot with a single camera

First ave 83: no need to say anything else that hasn't been said

Syracuse 85: pro shot for television so great picture, just features the annoying split screen fir when doves cry

COBO arena 86

First avenue 87: multiple angles pro shot, little grainy and dark at times but still great and includes a funky as he'll version of strange relationship B)

Paisley park 87 new years benefit: multiple angles and already mentioned above

Lovesexy 88 Dortmund..faaantastic, professionally shot show.

Tokyo 90: as mentioned above great show and footage featuring a blistering version of Bambi

London 92 diamonds and pearls: funky show featuring professional shots but a tad grainy and dark at times

Philadelphia 2001 hit and run: weird audience shot show which I only call weird as it features awesome footage but just looks like it was performed in a school gymnasium.

There are others but I'm knackered and hate using an iPhone to write on here but hey ho

The Gold Files is a good one to get, there is also the Manneken Peace Gold show, it's audience shot but a good one, can't think if there is a full pro-shot gold show offhand.

Yes, great video. There is a very cool double dvd thing called "The Sacrafice Of The Undertaker" which has The Undertaker and The Sacrafice Of Victor video both sourced from laserdisc, picture quality is top drawer.

Nice thing to have.
