The overall energy of this concert is just amazing. As if an upcoming new artist is to show to the world "I am good and don't you forget about that". Simply amazing, after 33 years in business and still this this hunger and need to prove himself to the audience.

I guess that's why I love Prince on stage so much... smile

dancing jig Yay! Another great bootleg. But why always effing flac, isn't 356kb/s mp3 good enough? The converting programs in flac are always stupid trials. Do you all have quad amplifiers and kef speakers or what?
Edit: but before you all shoot me, I'm still happy that there are bootleggers willing to take the risk to record these great shows! wink

Use this http://www.dvdvideosoft.c...verter.htm for ultra easy Flac to mp3 conversion, if you can't use this with no trouble then it's off with your head.

Also as mentioned, download winamp, (it's very easy to use and free) it will play almost any music format without converting and you can also burn flac direct to cd.

Ignorance comes for free, it seems...

(I'm sorry, I could never remain silent after reading that... When will some of you realize that YOU CAN ALWAYS TURN LOSSLESS TO LOSSY BUT YOU CAN NEVER TURN LOSSY TO LOSSLESS. It's like if you're being presented with a Porsche you replied: Er... thanks, but I was expecting an old rusty bicycle...).

LMAO!! I knew you'd chime in on THAT one!! And I agree wholeheartedly, why NOT start with a lossless source? You wanna start off with the best audio possible. And it's incredibly easy to find freeware to convert flac files to mp3! If you can actually find where these boots are to download them, then you should certainly be able to find the appropriate program to do conversions.

Still enjoying the "What's My Name/Dorothy Parker" tracks on this, very good indeed, almost sleazy sounding bass, love it.

Now this is why I'm a Prince fan. Just when you think he's in a rut playing boring hit-fests, he pulls something like this out of his bag. Fantastic setlist. "What's My Name", "Chocolate", "Mutiny"?! drool Prince's bass-playing on "What's My Name" is funky as hell. Even songs I'm tired of, like "Controversy", sound better to me here.

Great first release for a new fan label! Good sound quality, and I appreciate that there's nobody chattering in my ears. The recording has just the right level of crowd noise for my taste. Well done, and thanks!

The great thing about the choices of songs is that it suits his band pretty damn well. New songs of his new band, and changes to his old ones to make it fit.

The jams are pretty tight and everything but I do find myself a little bored through most of 'em. Doubt I'll re-listen to this one much. Great song choices though.

I feel the same way. Pretty varied setlist, I'll give him that, but there's something pretty underwhelming about this band. Maybe I'd feel different if I could hear this in soundboard quality instead of this audience recording, but I doubt it. Case in point....they do Outstanding, and it sounds very dry, and they actually give it a jazzy-type bridge??? Mutiny just sounded like it was missing something as well. Dorothy Parker wasn't bad, though.

This gig won't be getting too many spins from me. confused I'm just really not feelin' this band, including Shelby.

Since you were able to see this show in person, I'm willing to bet that you are a lot more connected to it than I will ever be. There are moments you can place to these audio recordings, whereas I have to fill in the blanks. The moments of spontaneity don't translate as well to a totally disconnected bootleg listener such as myself.

I can only listen to a beat and synth embellishments for so long before I think: hmmm, it's been 10 minutes. Maybe I should listen to an awesome song instead of another funk jam pastiche (in before I'm maimed for that comment lol)

This is not a critique on Prince's performance (his voice sounds great and guitarwork is amazing (as always).

Last one I really dug was Montreux so I feel ya on that. Dunno how long it's been for you.

I also haven't listened to the full first disc yet. First 3 songs are such great song choices but, again, it's very exhausting. Will give it another shot later. I Like it There on disc 2 is phenomenal though!

Me neither, dude. Me neither. For me, it's because of his recent bands and the same ol' same ol' tracks being played (usually).

On winamp...click help (top left of screen) then click tutorials, scroll down till you find "How to burn a cd."

I used the Frearc to convert the files from Flc to MP3 but everytime i convert a track it says the mp3 already exists & do i want to replace it even though they haven't been converted to mp3 yet... So when i do say yes of course every track is replaced with the latest one so i can only burn one track. Make sense?
