Under the Cherry Moon

I think this film is getting better as time passes. I think filming it in black and white has paid off. The story is quite cute now, although it was embarrasing watching it on release. Does anyone else have an opinion?

i always liked it (now maybe more than Purple Rain).can't understand why it got slaughtered by the critics and some fans alike.i like it in B&W though i would like to see a colour version, i wonder if it would improve it in any way.

i thought it was a bold movie.

Because it's a grotesque campy cheese-fest with truly awful acting. But that makes it fun 2 watch...though i doubt that that's how P intented it.

I agree. Under the Cherry Moon was great. I love watching the movie over and over again. I think that people should consider making some movies back and white. And the tell you the truth, to me I thinkg he looked better in Cherry Moon then Purple Rain. I don't know why but I think so. Of course he is hot in anything. wink but in compairison.

because just like the music situation in contemporary entertainment, most people expect, want, and need an artists' "NEXT" 2 B like their "LAST".

people wanted a "Purple Rain 2" just like they wanted Around the World... to be a continuation of PR. Some artist do that alot, never changing there style really. Kind of like remaking the same song essentially, but having a different person produce it. Example is MJ and the similarities between the LPs "Thriller" and "Bad" and then "Dangerous". Hell weren't the songs "BAD", "BEAT IT", and "Dangerous" oh and "INVINCIBLE" the same song for the most part.

I think The Acting Sucked, but the Story line was interesting.I wasn't crazy overall with the Soundtrack&He did get caught up with the Purple Rain Formula of trying to match SOundtrack&Film.

I liked it, not more than Purple Rain, though.
I think the reason why most people bashed it was because they were expecting it to be "purple rain 2", and it wasn't.
The acting was pretty bad, but overall it's a cute, laughable movied that I really enjoy.

they were expecting it to be a Good Film.Prince was trying to act just like Morris&while it works on Record it doesn't fly on Film.a Music Video is different than a Hour&half of Film.I Liked the Story but Wrong Cast IMHO.
