When will Prince tour Australia again? Does anyone know where he is touring at the moment?

He is on the European leg of the tour now. I think we will see him hit Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Manila on the way to Sydney and Melbourne. This is just speculation, but it seems logical.

Logic is not a word that Prince has in his dictionary. He has the current European tour under the heading "Welcome 2 America" for instance...

I heard rumours about somewhere in september, don't know if it's true.

The aussie dollar is VERY strong at the moment.

Does that encourage or discourage acts from performing here?

I think he gave up on Australia when one of the Peach & Black boys mentioned Tony M's foot in Jim Crow's arse.

I think it will happen, this year or next year, I heard from a reliable source that there is more to come with concerts/tour this year and next year, so don't give up hope!

This would be the WORST. I'd HATE to have to see him at BDO. But God damn, I want him to get down here soon!!!!!!!

Agreed. If that's what it would take to get him down here, then so be it, but lordy, he'd have to do some of his own gigs as well.

In addition, he says there is a fair bit of action happening behind the scenes as we start hearing rumours that Prince may be finally coming back down under. He says “Rival promoters are saying that the BDO are sounding out Prince. It seems like a weird fit but apparently talks happened in Europe with Prince for BDO or one of the Summer festivals.”

No kidding about the 'weird fit'! (Incidentally, that's what I'll have if he finally makes it down here and only does the BDO...)

Then again, the whole article reads a bit like a Glastonbury rumour. Maybe Prince, maybe Eminem, maybe at the BDO or else one of the other summer festivals.

But I do like the fact that energy is building around this apparent desire to return down under.
