How Many Of You Thinks Prince Watches Some Of His Old Performances(79-95) It would be really cool if he watched his 1987 VMAS performance or his Dirty Mind tour.

I'd guess he goes through phases where he watches it a lot, and other phases where he decides to kill off that part of his brain... but I doubt he's watching Dirty Mind tour, or the less finessed period of his performances.
We know Michael Jackson used to sit around and watch his childhood performances.

i could see him watching current shows to critique it and see whats working or not and if he wants to change anything. i seriously doubt though that he ever sits down with a bowl of popcorn to watch an old show just for a fun night at home.

People say Prince doesn't look at the past or whatever
He looks back and know he watches and talks about past stuff When he was on the Lopez show, and he put on the drum kit with Sheila E, either Sheila suggested it Prince remembered it or they watched and remembered that whole scene from the SOTT concert film during the part where the band marches out led by Sheila and they end by slapping the sticks together in an X about their heads

I don't think it's seen as "cool". Sometimes a song can take on changes over time, and artists have to go back to listen to the original to get their bearings, esp if they do the full length albums live. It's no different than a quarterback and his coach reviewing plays. Prince prob. videotaped a lot of things just to assess how a show went.
