Morris Day & The Time shows, NYC - does Prince ever show up?

Planning on going to see Morris this Friday at B.B. King's in NYC - anyone know if Prince ever shows up to these shows? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Prince DID guest on stage with Morris Day and The Time at BB King's in NYC like 7-10 years ago.

Does anyone know the lineup for this show?

This IS the anniversary of the release of thier first album!

The line-up at the show I attended last December included Morris, Monte Moir, and Jellybean Johnson from the original members. I would hope all the original members would reunite for the 30th anniversary. The setlist last December was:

1) Intro (samples from different songs)

2) Skillet

3)Pandemonium

4) Cool

5) Wild & Loose

6) Get It Up

7) 777-9311

8) Chocolate

9) Jerk Out

10) Oak Tree

11) Fishnet

12)Sometimes I Get Lonely/Girl

13) Gigolos get Lonely Too

14)If The Kid Can't Make You Come

15)The Walk

16)The Bird

17) Tricky/Jungle Love

Prince bring out Morris and Jerome during his own shows as a special thing sometimes, and they do a short medley.

The rare chance of you getting the original full version of The Time showing up with Jesse Johnson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis in attendance would be what you should hope for instead. It's happened a few times and they have a new album recorded.

They should do a few Jesse Johnson tunes to mix it up: Can U Help Me

yep...that's it...what 4? i don't get it...really! u got a clue? if so, plz hit me up...I LOVE THE TIME...period...and to me, it's ok for them having musicians rotating, they all play that stuff real well...tori, chance howard and ricki are cool, too, i think...only thing really strange is when jerome is missing...the other guy has something...mob-like...that's cool, too, but it's way better with jerome...!

He doesn't have 2 show up he still gets paid with them playing his songs. That he wrote, composed Produced, arranged & sung lead in & background vocals on....

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Only from album royalties.

It would be abnormal for the writer/publisher to get a cut of live shows.

I think Prince gets paid from live shows 2. Because he owns the name "The Time" & may have named Morris Morris Day 2.......Meanwhile the checks just keep cumming in....

I don't believe that. You can't get checks from live performances. Sure the music that is played is surely giving him bank and whoever finds the Time albums at a local Mom & Pop record store but I don't think that just because you get paid on the group's work, you don't get paid on when the group performs onstage. That money should go straight to THEM (The Time).

the writers of songs get paid royalties when people play them live, so prince gets paid when the time play the songs he wrote. this has been going on for decades

I think you guys are more or less on point, but the amount of money Prince would get from his songs played publicly at a concert, by The Time or Fdeluxe, etc is literally pocket change. About one dollar per event. eek And it would be something like 6-18 months before the check is even generated and sent to him. And even that is assuming that enough of his music was played live in a given fiscal quarter to even meet the minimum requirements for him to collect. Then he's got to pay tax on that, so... in effect he isn't seeing any direct money from the live shows based on the fact that he is the copyright holder on the records.
