Very cool. The usual warnings apply. Do not ask for it here. Doing so will earn an instant vacation from the org. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

FBG. Not Purple Rushed.
Love that...
Seriously, ppl, Sab's Purple Rush was good for it's time (early 2000s), but little by little it is becoming irrelevant. First the Ex Mas rehearsal, then The Bird rehearsal, and just this year within a couple months time, the birthday 84 show and this reharsal both in previously unheard pristine soundboard quality.
I never did bother to get the whole PR series, and now I don't even feel compelled to try (except for the anal completist geek in me that wants to collect everything, even early sub-par sounding material

Lol! And here I was going to ask had anyone heard this yet! I just peeped this real early this morning, and it's such a treat. I wasn't even aware this was on the slate to be released.
Hmmm, I wonder what's next... See, THIS is why I couldn't care less if Prince ever recorded another note because I'm not checkin' for "today's" Prince anymore. Just for stuff like this.

Great set!
I'm trying to hear what he says at the beginning of "Learning Purple Rain" though. I love the lil' moments where jokes around with his band.

I'm enjoying what I hear, its a nice lil' groove set. Thanks.
I used to hate the braggarts when they spoke of their findings but now that I know I have no more complaints. [Edited 7/3/11 17:51pm] Jeux Sans Frontiers

Really?? I loved the series and always see them as the introductory package for beginning Prince fans interested in boots Always recommended them Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

You are not going to get anything else from FBG, if you want mp3 you can always convert them yourself.

Me too. Purple Rush was ALWAYS a must-have, in my opinion. The only one I didn't care for was the last one, Vol. 7. It was a cheap and unnecessary way of extending the series that just didn't need to be. Oh, don't get me wrong. It's still a part of my listening collection, for sure. But, it wouldn't have hurt my feelings if they had stopped at #6 with the April 7, 1985 show, the last PR show.

I'm not asking for it because I have it but what I want to know is where or who do these come from? Does he just record everything that's on his mind when he's near a studio? I'm sure the next thing to come out is of him eating Cap'n Crunch with coconut milk with a bonus twentyseven minute nap in two versions. Jeux Sans Frontiers
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
they say he pretty much records every thing!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well, why wouldn't he record a rehearsal? Sometimes, a groove might come up in rehearsal that he'd like to build a song around, and he can always go back to it by listening to the recording. He can also catch things that he might not have been able to while everyone was playing live.
Sigh...just think of all the gems he's recorded from back in the day that are no way in circulation. It's a damn shame we'll probably never get to hear them, even after the man dies.

Indeed, we should be grateful that things such as this were recorded so we can enjoy them today.
