Exactly, you had to wait years for people to put out books to get even a little part of a story. When someone tells stories, there's always 3 sides. Your side, my side, and the truth. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

It's a waste of time to even consider the possibility.

Can you imagine a one off comeback gig??
Dr Fink, overweight and squeezed into his old suit like a green balloon about to burst.
Bobby Z strapped up to a heart monitor.
Brown Mark still pouting but now in a creepy old man kind of way.
Lisa's cigarette burned down to the end with the ash still hanging.
Wendy on her knees in from of Prince's guitar, needing help to get back up again.
Prince is a tafkan, socks and platform sandals.
Revolution is a game for youth. Don't spoil the memory!

I give Prince credit for trying to reunite The Revolution a couple of times. I don't think he EVER really wanted the group to break up. I love Wendy and Lisa but if you really take a look at it.... they caused the band to breakup, not Prince. And they refused to reunite the band with Prince more than once over the years. It's not ALWAYS Prince's fault when things go bad. A lot of the bandmembers were going through their own changes too. A lot of the whacky directions Prince has gone in over the years was because he had to try something new when he couldn't get cooperation from The Revolution. We forget about that sometimes.

That is not happening | |

I wish it would
I think it's the reasons why that he won't that bother me, from little things like wanting to do Roadhouse Garden but not wanting to pay them etc and other things pity

ay-men to that! don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't see that at all
Most of the people in Prince's band now are old, and Sheila E is in her 50's and she performs with him
But that was funny

You need to take those prince shades offf
Prince wanted to reunite for the Roadhouse Garden album but said he didn't want to pay them, and you say Wendy & Lisa are at fault?
Wendy & Lisa were playing with him into 2007, why would they be the fault? because they wouldn't renounce their sexuality?

Nah dude, over the years Prince has reached out to The Revolution members something like 5 times or so to reunite. W&L killed it every time. The 'renounce homosexuality' thing was not their fault and you could blame Prince (maybe) for killing that reunion, but there were 3 other times throughout the 90's where they balked and thought they were now too good to play in his band. They quit the band pretty much for the same reasons back in the 80's.
W&L are not stars. Prince is. Asshole though he may be, they really have to be the ones to be more accomodating of him, set aside a lot of things and give him reasons to trust in them again. Too often, it seems like they expect for it to be the other way around. Prince has groveled more publicly to repair that relationship than any big star I've ever seen (except maybe Lenny Kravitz over Lisa Bonet). Give him credit for trying.

Wendy and Lisa didn't quit the band. They, along with Bobby Z were let go. Brownmark walked away and Fink stayed on until the early 90s.
Anyway, I'm not holding my breath for a reunion. ~Using the Fat Albert emoticon 'cause no one else is... ~

There was obviously friction between Prince, Wendy & Lisa and BrownMark. I'm sure there's no love lost either.

From what I've read/seen in the recent interviews with W&L, it seems they still love Prince, but the three have issues to work out. Kinda like a dysfunctional family. Can't speak for Brownmark, though. ~Using the Fat Albert emoticon 'cause no one else is... ~

Essentially it boils down to they quit, then came back, then Prince fired them.

I always felt Prince/Wendy/Lisa had a brother-sisters type of relationship. Who knows with BrownMark?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I always though about that as well. Maybe one day...if not, No big deal keep on making that funky Music Prince! Shut up already...Damn!

If you could pull out those 5 times I will hear you
Other than that I only know of 1 other time. Having the Revolution to play at the Rave show doesn't count, that's not a reunion
W&L as well as the rest of the Revolution were ready till this day to get a reunion together
The only other time I know of and that mainly revolved around W & L was when Prince refused to pay them for the work

I think W&L took it as no contract=no money, but didn't Prince give them million dollar bonuses back in the day? He didn't have to do that, but he did. And as it turned out Prince's money was funny at the time and bankruptcy was looming around the corner, but he was kind of like MC Hammer, in that he took care of his people, even if he had no legal obligation to do so. W&L should of showed up everytime he invited them to, period. You don't see Fink, Bobby or Mark acting high and mighty. W&L don't acknowledge, that Prince is THE DRAW. Not them. Songwriting credits be damned, Prince is the star and he gets to call the shots at the end of the day. They don't want to respect that.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
What multi million dollar bonuses? Where are you getting this stuff?
They quit becasue he was dicking them around. Then, he talked them back, so he could fire them and so to look in control.
What five times are you refering to where he tried to get them back? .
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, that was when Prince was weird and his money was funny, he probably thought because they were 'friends' he wouldn't have to pay them.
No Prince owed a lot of people money years later BrownMark from my understanding didn't get his full pay for the Purple Rain or Parade tour till years later.
If Prince paid up money it was because according to a contract, he owed them. That's also why Eric Leeds stop playing with him, around the same time because Prince hadn't paid up.
Oh yes they do acknowledge, they are still star struck for Prince they both especially Wendy were playing a lot more often during the 2005/2006 years
You still haven't shown me those 5 reunions they turned down. You still haven't shown me those 5 reunions they turned down.
Look, you're talking to some Prince historians here, not much of what you've said is factual

Thank you! I wanna hear more about these five times, including sources/links that say this. That number just seems extremely bloated to me!

Were there ever plans for a reunion at the Woodstock 25th anniversary concert? I remember hearing that. This was in 1994.

million dollar bonuses?! I doubt that Prince was that generous! lol.BrownMark has complained that he was never paid royalties and was offered a paltry sum to do the 'Parade' tour (at a time when Stevie Nicks offered him three times that amount).

I HOPE NOT! His best music was after the revolution. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
