DAMN U Was listening to this song over and over and over again last night.
Who else thinks it's one of his most underrated ballads? The thing I've always loved about Prince is that his lyrics and song titles are honest, playful, insinuating, sometimes overstating, but always creative and fun. "Damn U, u're so fine, seems to happen 2 me each&everytime we make love, I can't hold back, it's like having a hundred million little heart attacks..." - don't u just love it? (1st cousin of "I Hate U")

It's one of my favourite Prince ballads for sure. He sings it with so much passion and feeling.
I can say I like it better then Adore. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....and remember: Members get to hear it last

Great track, I love it, and it's 'sister' track: Extraordinary.

Oh !I hate U and Damn U back 2 back:nod: I enjoy both much more than Adore. My man and I were in the car the other day and I was listening to Prince (he doesn't like P), and Damn U came on. I looked straight in his eyes and sang with P to Damn U. He thought it was going to be something bad and said "oh I see how it is",but then I sang the "your so fine" and he melted...yeah, I know how to work my man with a little help from P. Turned a little argument in the car back into love:sexy:

I don´t think it´s underrated. It´s beautiful, everybody loves it. It was one of the great moments on the D&P-Tour. This and Insatiable are his two best ballads from this era. See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

LOVE this song!
Especially the way his vocals 'bounce' over the "Come... to... think.. about you baby... u're my only need" section then goes straight from his falsetto, to his lowest register. Divine! By the way, who plays the jazzy guitar part on this song? One of my favourite guitar sections on a Prince track. I'm in work - unable to chek - but it sounds like Mike Scott.

I love this song. It's so dreamy, hypnotic and jazzy, the type of song that Harry Connick Jr. would have loved to sing.My favorite part is when he sings..."Damn this...kooky love aff--fair--air",and the little instrumental break that comes after it.

It does absolutely nothing for me. One of the songs (along with i wanna melt with u) that should have been left off . Extraordinary or Empty Room would have been far better inclusions to go on this album.

I think that the 'Dam* U' part, is sort of like cursing (her...??? ) is that overstating?
I like the song though...that whole album!!! [This message was edited Thu Feb 13 20:15:53 PST 2003 by Starmist7]

I played this track for the first time in years last night...I had forgotten how beautiful yet simplistic the track is. Arguably one of his better "unknown" ballads. In fact all of the ballads on the "Symbol" album are very inspired. This album is often overlooked however it contained some of the best music of the 1990's.
