Wolf, first off, You arenot showing your intelligence by coming on this website and making this statement.
I think David Bowie is a excellent musician. I have seen him in concert two times, and I can tell you, he is good but he doesn't even touch what Prince puts out at a concert. I saw more people at the Bowie shows dressed up in silly clothes than I ever saw at a Prince show. I only personally know one Bowie fan and she is intelligent but kind of mean, so I can't speak on Bowie fans intelligence. Another thing, Bowie is white and British. He never got the rap that Prince has to put up with being black, short True, there are some silly Prince fans, but I have been to many afterparties and everyone I met was intelligent. There are a lot of people that criticize Prince and don't even know anything about him, and I think the people that look past all of this and can see the genius in his music and appreciate it are very intelligent. .. | |

I am both a David Bowie fan and a Prince fan (not Fam, I ain't family I invited him to my wedding and he didn't RSVP) does that make me a Smart Dumb Ass?

The album Space Oddity is awful. Ziggy Starduct is amazing though. I am sure that most people know a few more songs than Changes and Under Pressure. You could say that all people know of Prince is Purple Rain and The Most Beautiful Girm In The World, when I tell people I like Prince that's all they seem to know (oh yeah, and Batman). To be quite honest, I never bought into the "fam" thing. It's silly. That being said, Prince's music is so multifaceted and complex that it attracts intelligent people with discriminating tastes. I never like to get into the debate of which music fans are smarter than others, but the Princeophiles I've encountered are invariably intelligent and successful.

i like both artist,and there r unintelligent bowie fans and unintelligent prince fans. u will find these kinds of ppl in every fan club. i have been a prince fan 4 over 20 years and i have attended just about every concert,and i have always dressed like a queen. nothing but the best 4 p. and as far as becoming a JW, that is out of the question. i don't agree with their beliefs.just because my idol does something stupid, doesn't mean that i will follow suit. | |

Oh yeah. Miles Davis himself, not known to be quick to praise any musician, said Prince was the Duke Ellington of his day. Coming from Miles, I'd think that says something about the intelligence of his music.
I know Bowie blazed a path in music and fashion, but Prince was Bowie, Sly, Jimi, James and Miles wrapped in one. Prince could play anything Bowie can, but I doubt Bowie could do Housequake, Adore, Love or $, Movie Star, Emancipation, and so on. By the way, BLUE JEAN IS MY JAM!!!
