Do You Think It Was A Good Choice For Prince To Become A Jehova Witness? Becuase If He Dates People They Would Only Be Touching. So Its Basically Being Friends Since He Cant Have Sex. But What Do You Think?

Jehovah's Witnesses can have sex.
From a musical/artistic standpoint, no. [Edited 6/11/11 15:47pm]

Sure its a great idea if you want to become an angry old fogey. Thats exactly what Prince has become since joining. I prefer him pre jehova as he seemed much happier. Now he always seems mad at the world. Its too bad as they have ruined him. If it is what he wants than I will respect it but it definately has changed him for the worst it seems

His choice and it seems to make him happy so........Who Are We To Judge. Prince's Sarah

I think it was a horrible choice. MJ was once a Witness. When he left his mind became filled with artistic genius. I think the Jehovas just suck the artistic genius out of anyone who joins. I will miss the songs about "fucking th taste out of a chicks mouth" *sigh*

Good for him but bad for me because I want to hear some of the oldies but goodies from back in the day live!

I think the same thing I thought when the question was asked last week and next week when the same question will be asked again...
Prince life choices haven't negatively impacted my enjoyment of his music. He doesn't have to cuss or write raunchy sex lyrics for me to be entertained.

imo the musical downhill began when he started to believe in Jehovah in 1997 or was it 98..
the influence from Larry Graham, was terrible.....
Prince was so cool before,
at first, when I heard this about Prince and Jehovah I was 100% sure it was just a media gimmick.
But it was real, damn.
Who would have thought this in the 1980s, back when he was called "his royal badness".
I can't understand why an intelligent man like Prince will undercast himself to a sect like that.
sad.... Prince 4Ever. | |

It's not a good choice for anyone and displays a profound level of ignorance and gullibility.

Let's hope that he comes out and admits that it was a stunt. One very long Aprils Fools joke.

What!!!???
Why on earth would we have opinions of Prince's sexual life.
Musically, though - not a good idea. From relative openminded religiousness to dogmatic know-the-truth religion. From questioning and doubts to answering and knowing. I know which I prefer in music and art.

I think it's a good decision for Prince to practice whatever religion his heart and mind leads him to.

That's actually none of our business why he chose to become a JW, and neither is his sex life, friendships or anything personal in his life, in which some nosy fans think it is a requirement for them to "need to know" about him, because that's pretty much reaching towards stalker level. I would feel sorry for anyone embracing any religion as they are all a load of crap.
But especially if my favourite musician joins not a religion but a LOUSY SECT I can only think he's losing his mind (and the JWs will help him lose it even more).
I wish Larry Graham the worst of the worst for getting Prince into that rubbish.

Careful now, you don't want karma to jump up and bite you in your ass for wishing bad on someone else. Question though...how do you know it was Larry that made a grown man make a personal decision on his own to embrace a religion he chose to embrace? Even if many don't accept the JW faith and what it stands for, it's really not our place to tell an adult what faith is personally right for them. Not saying we can't have an opinion about it, but it makes no sense to express hatred and blame towards another person because you "believe or think" they are responsible for forcing their religious beliefs on one of your favorite musicians, when you have no actual proof unless you hear that statement come from the mouth of that musician. So why sweat it? [Edited 6/12/11 8:11am]

Prince had met Larry in a studio when he was recording his first or second album, but then they met again in 97 or 98 in Nashville and since Prince was not in good animic shape (he'd just lost his son, his parents...) Larry saw the opportunity of his life to get such a celebrity recruited into his 'faith'.
That's a fact, not what I 'believe or think'.
Finally, I wipe my arsehole with karma.

JW is close to his beliefs regarding government and military. JW cleanses and renews his soul ad revives his respectability and dignity. JWs are close to Prince's beliefs about timelessness relating to birthdays and commemorative events. I too feel that JW kills the total creative experience, and I look at another artist related to MJJ who is JW and way too nice to rise to success in the entertainment business. If Prince had become JW in the beginning of his career, he would have never made it to fame. I love his Rainbow Children era that has a whiff of JW mixed in with mystical and idyllic spirituality. The effect on his music was amazing. Check it out it in wikipedea http://en.wikipedia.org/w...w_Children
I personally love Larry Graham, am ok with his JW at this point in his life but would love to see the Rainbow Children come back to his life.

Serena Williams is a JW. She's not married, and I don't think she's celebate. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I guess we'll find out when the rainbow children come out to do the work and get their family name or whatever. The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Well, I also heard it was his mother that wanted him to become a JW, so all the stories of how he chose to embrace the JW faith are conflicting. So it makes no sense to hold hatred toward anyone you "assumed" led him to become a JW. It's no secret Prince has always incorporated God/religion into his music long before he joined the JW faith. It's also not your personal decision, mine or anyone else's to choose another's faith. You're entitled to an opinion of it, but you can't choose it for them, because you don't walk in anyone else's shoes but your own, and live your own life experience(s).
Oh, by the way, you may need extra tissue to wipe that karma from your asshole.
