Yes Day of Wild is his all time best "rap" track...I agree and wish I had a good copy of it..need to get an mp3 of the Beautiful Experience version I guess.

I would probably rank "The Good Life (Big City Remix)" as that with DOW as a 2nd place. I love both of them, though.

Used to play "The Good Life (Big City Remix)" when I used to DJ at parties back in the day and people would be shocked to learn it was Prince.. and then ask me to play it again. Th\e delivery, the track, pretty much could've made a decent single if it was pushed further enough by WB, but unfortunately by the time the single dropped, I believe the album was shelved for release in the US.

Still got my original Exodus CD direct from Paisley, though. Funky album.

But yeah, his use of metaphor was clever ("keep my dollars fuckin', hope they have a son" and "Tito got your tissue, son" are some of the sickest lines I've heard just based on its delivery and punchline) and his rhymes were pretty much on point for that whole remix. I'd say this joint and "Now" just for the "club banger" 90's feel. I mean, hell, even "Acknowledge Me" had a new jack style to it that would've competed on radio had it been released in '94-96. But, IMO, the live version of "DOW" from "Love4OneAnother" and later "Crystal Ball" has more energy on par with "Now" and even "P Control".

The studio version, while good in its own right, had a subdued energy on par with "The Big City Mix".
