I think Prince has a low boredom factor. Sooner or later he will grow bored of JW and search for God in a new religious form. By nature his music is linked with his relationship with God and he will have to search further or his music may become stagnent. I dont think he would let this happen.

You don't think he would let his music become stagnant in the name of God? I wonder if those are his beliefs.

Well I'm gonna be brave here and say that I picked up a copy of The New World Translation about 4 months ago, after hearing Prince mention it at the sound check in Detroit last year. I am not converting to become a JW but I think I've put down some of my prejudice & fear of the religion. It is basically a Christian religion. I don't agree with everything I've read in their materials but then I don't agree with everything from other religions that I've studied or attended in my lifetime. I have owned about 8 different versions of the Bible and studied comparative religion in college years ago. I check out religious resources more online now due to Prince and have very interesting conversations with friends on spiritual topics and how they relate to our real lives. I think it's good for people to expand their understanding of different religions, different cultures, etc. I think it helps fight against xenophobia.

Also, I imagine that at least some people have thought more about their personal belief in God, in Jesus and their religion because of Prince and that's a positive thing, IMO.

Prince is an intelligent person who enjoys studying a variety of topics. I think he encourages people to live their life to the fullest: to think for themselves, to study, to be open-minded, to accept differences in people, to enjoy each other, to enjoy life, etc.

This is an excellent thread in my opinion. Thanks for posting it.

I dont know what Princes opinion is, but I think that his development as an artist and musician are linked with his relationship with religion. I dont think he will stay as a JW, but who knows? I would'nt change my beliefs beacause of him.

Can anyone guess how probable someone who believes in the JW's teachings, and has been accepted, is going to leave? I know this is not scientific however I'm interested if someone can intelligently speculate about it's liklihood for Prince? mr.green
