Has he performed this live in full? I know he sang part of the lyrics to it once or twice over another song, but I can't recall if its been performed propper. I'd love to hear how it'd be performed. I think it'd be hot.

Change it one more time..

I think u have to have a sense of humor not be too uptight to really appreciate the song. Composition and soundwise there's absolutely nothing wrong it. Its fun, upbeat, and danceable... I think people are turned off by the retro sound, but for me its the same as going back and jamming to "For You"... u gotta be in that mindframe and just rock out to it.

Change it one more time..

I don't hear it like that. Its obviously a song about going to his live show and about all the love in the room, but I also think its aimed as a foil to "No more candy 4 U".

He is clearly having a laugh.

I like this perspective.

Me too ~G. I like the song.

But obviously everybody can hear the difference in the style and energy of the recorded performance, the sound and production, not to mention the explicit sexual lyrical content of those songs as opposed to the self absorbed ego worshipping of ELM.

ELM is/sounds extremely silly. Basically as a parody on himself. I would hope it is at least. :~

Everybody Loves Me wasn't a bad song it was just the lyrics and vocals made it seem like a lame song.

The production was hot!

I hate it when Prince tries to create something that could appear in a Disney movie or in a cartoon

this is just as bad as Neon Telephone or Teacher Teacher barf

I don't own an original copy of 20Ten, we all know why rolleyes, but I downloaded the album and I quickly erased that weak track. confused

[Edited 7/21/11 12:02pm]

Song of the heart was a great children's song

He has it in him to make a great kiddy song.

Dirty mind (besides the lyrics) sounds like a kiddy song.

I like all of 2010. I like it way better than 3121 and PE. No More Candy also has that severe retro feel. Its also one of my faves of the past few years.

Most people miss the point of this track. It's an effort to put all the haters on blast. Your reaction determines which side of the fence upon which you stand. So if you listen to it with your own expectation of what Prince 'should' represent musically, you're a hater. If you listen to it with love you are experiencing what Prince is all about. And he executes the track using a funny, simplified palette. I have always beleived he has the greatest musical sense of humor in the business.

Where did you get that from this???????

Its clearly about a general shared love at his concert.

"Everybody Loves Me"

Tonight I love everybody
Everybody loves me
The beat you're giving is the rhythm of life
Everybody get happy

If you really come to party
This is the place to be
Tonight I love everybody
Everybody loves me

Everybody loves me
Everybody loves me
Everybody loves me

Tonight the stars are out
There's music in the air
The sounds of joy and celebration
Are drowning out despair

If you're the king of hate
Or if you're the queen of misery
Tonight I love everybody
Everybody loves me

Everybody loves me
Everybody loves me
Everybody loves me

This party's sick
With all the [Incomprehensible]
Get the police quick
Don't let them shut us down

Don't do it
No
Rock it

Tonight I love everybody
That's right, everyone
I don't care what you came here for
As long as you have fun

Everybody get free
Everybody get free
Everybody love me

There ain't no shame
In having a good time
There's only us to blame
If we make it up right
Oh, I ain't lying

There ain't nothing to it
But to do it
There ain't nothing to it
But to do it

Shake it like you don't know better
Woop de woop
Shake it like you don't know better
Woop de woop

There ain't nothing to it
But to do it

Everybody loves me
Everybody loves me
Everybody loves me
Me

Last year when I picked up the 20TEN cd and I couldn't believe how horrible this cd was except for 2 songs one being "Future Soul Song" and the other being a Prince classic that feels like 1981 all over again. That song is "Everybody Loves Me". From the retro beat to the 1999 era claps to the cool distorition of his voice. I would love to see Prince end his shows with this song with a video montage of Prince interacting with his fans. Just like "The 1 U wanna C" from Planet Earth and "Dreamer" from Lotus "Everybody Loves Me" is a classic lost within a bunch of crap. Quality Control is needed , so that these "new" classics can be appreciated.

U did not like Lavaux? Sticky Like Glue? Act Of God? wow......wow....

I cant get in2 this one..why didnt he just re-record Turn It Up or Broken and put that on the end of the album instead?

The lyrics of Act of God are the only thing I really like about that song... its probably the only song on that album that i didn't really like the music so much as the lyrics. It has a Sly & Family Stone type vibe to it for me but I think that it would only really work for me if it were played with real instruments. But as you said above, i guess to each their own..

freedom ain't free... is Prince trying to say what exactly?? taxes? bootlegs? downloading music? Please... I hate hearing multi-millionaires piss and moan about money they have to pay. Most celebrities have their noses so far up liberal's butts and they should be mad at them since liberals want those rich celebs to pay even more!! So shut the F up and pay.

I think singers should just get on stage, do their little song and dance and then get the hell off stage!

I am listening to it now, and I must admit it's not as cheesy as it was the first 2 times I heard it the first time I heard "20Ten", and I have heard 20Ten on many occasions. Haha. ( I heard it 2 times the first time I heard the CD, because I could not believe he recorded it...LOL..I was like what???) I have always skipped this, because it just IRKS me. hmph! BUT now listening to it, it does sound like something that could be on 1999. hmmm Still I would never call it a classic. It's annoying, and I can't feel it, the more I listen to it now while typing this; it just makes me say AHHHH!!!...Shut UP ALREADY..DAMN! lol. wall It's not his worst ever, but definitely his most annoying and cheesy in the last 10 years.

It's Button Therapy, Baby!
