If you could go back... If you could go back in time and revisit a certain Prince era-concert or event, what would it be??
Mine: I'd go back to 1994/95 The Gold Experience and all related concerts and music. This was such a prolific time. Lots of new music, a weird Prince who only wanted to play new music, Mayte, Come, Gold, Exodus, for a Prince fan this was the zenith!!! I love this period!! 1981 London Lyceum. Prince brought his Dirty Mind to the UK but I was only 10 and probably listening The Kids from Fame. Hi Fidelity hi hi hi!!! .

The above 2 would be high on the list.
81 Lyceum in the UK, I could chat to Bill Oddie
and the 83 First Avenue show.
maybe ...88 Tojan Horse Club just to hear that Just My Imagination solo live and see his facial expressions. [Edited 7/20/11 3:55am] Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

I have a friend who talked about seeing him in small clubs when he was starting out... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

1985. After the Purple Rain Tour ended, and before he start shooting Under The Cherry Moon. He was cool during that time.

Are they on the org, chocolate1? I've talked with some really great orgers who make me feel like I can turn back time. If I could go back, I'd take anything pre-Purple Rain. After listening to, and seeing some awesome boots, I think the voices of Prince, Andre, Dez, and Gayle/Lisa sound like ear candy to me. LOVE the harmony in Still Waiting, and NOBODY sounds like Dez in 1999. I love the way he arranged the vocals in that song. Ok, all done fawning.

It would have to be the 1983/1984 Purple Rain era,
2 feel that electricity and excitement again is priceless
the Dance Theater Benefit Show at 1st Ave 1983 (Purple Rain premere) and the 1st Avenue Birthday show 1984 w Sheila E in the audience
That time period cannot be touched.
But if I could extend it, let me experience the end of the 1999 era - the end of the Parade era right before I find out the rRevolution is parted
