Data Bank This isn't Prince's or The Revolution's greatest musical moment,however,this song kinda' rocks!!I was half dead on the way to work this a.m. and I had the player set to "Prince" and one of the eraly tunes that came on was ,the aforementioned,"Data Bank"!!Oh,that's what I needed!!That's funk and it moves with that driving,bouncy bassline that is justa s much funk as it is rock and lyrics just as funny ,funky,and sensible as they are nonsensical.Put a damn smile on my face this mornin' and woke me up!!Play this live,Prince Rogers!!!(and give it to a bootlegger so's I can hear it!!) Data Bank rules, so phat 'n' funky! Only recently discovered this funk gem and I love it.
Those were the days when I think his funk was more urgent. I wish he'd put out an all funk album with cuts as urgent as this one... RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time... |

Yeh a great outtake. Not sure it would have worked on any partcular album though. The version that the time did in 1990 was awful, totally lost the vibe.
