technical failures at north sea jazz

prince's shows have always been a standard of professionalism, yet at north sea jazz festival on 10th july it went wrong.

-there was an extreme focusing spotlight on his keyboardplayer when this man was doing absolutely nothing; at the same time, prince was pirouetting and dancing like hell - in the dark! this lasted quite long. then things went completely dark, then all lights went on; it was obvious the lighttechnicians were just searching for the right button and not finding it.

-the over-use of storboboscope became really irritating after a while.

-in the middle of the concert, prince had to re-soundcheck. for three minutes nothing happened, apart from prince saying:"one two one two, soundcheck..." - well, this was okay, at least it was honest.

-when raspberry baret was set in, prince had to yell in his mike:"the keyboard! the keyboard!" then, after a minute, yes, the keyboard was mixed in.

prince himself was in good shape, but so bad technicians on such a prestigious festival - boo!!!!

the show was much shorter than a week before in gent. people cried for more, but he didn't to that encore. guess why.
