Yeah I'm surprised some would even take him seriously. All he does is post bullshit. lol

The whole deal there is a bit disturbing. Prince chooses someone who uses the word "Funk" in vain as his publicity. It's all pop gossip, and the writing is so terrible, it's not easy to decipher.

[Edited 7/18/11 6:00am]

it's simple. Dr. Dingleberry has no gag reflex.

all the other entries on that site are a red herring for being Prince's official PR shill.

If so, here's hoping she can sing on one of his albums as well as Brenda has. Ropey indeed. coffee

It's not that hard to add metadata to an mp3 (and this is clearly an mp3). I do it all the time for songs that I record. Doesn't mean I'm about to drop an album. But then again, I'm not Prince

ha ha ha. Fucking Classic!

Yeah, I'm sure Prince will release something eventually. I just get the feeling not until next year. He's so busy with touring right now it seems like he doesn't have time to get an album together. He didn't release in 1983 because he was busy with the 1999 tour, and he didn't release in 2005 because he was Musicology-ing every which way he could.

I have ZERO insider info but my spidy sense tells me first quarter 2012

He called the internet a black hole a few months before lotusflow3r was launched. It appears his promises not to do things are about as good as his promises to do things.

Probably should have listened to his own advice on that one actually.

LotusFlow3r or some variation of what was actually released was supposed to be out in late '05. But he switched it up last minute and went with 3121. Hence the long lead time between Te Amo Corazon and the album.

Regarding recent interviews, I could easily imagine Prince and Andy releasing a low-fi album full of tracks like this one, as a "fuck you, I'll release proper music when the industry/download crisis is solved". And the "letter of credit" title would then make sense. lol

It's funny that P would release this song anyway, because the other day I was listening to the 1976-1977 home recordings and I thought "Prince could release this one day: it would be his low-fi album and it would be perfect in that genre" lol

There may have been a long lead time between the release of "Te Amo Corozon" and the album itself, but it was billed as the first single from 3121 from day one:

I think the explanation for the 3 month gap was simply that Universal was trying to land a hit single before the album was released. That's become an increasingly common tactic in recent years, particuarly in R&B.

Three months isn't a long lead in time for a single, either. Even in todays music market its common for a single to be released six month prior, followed by another single closer to the actual release date.

this is just speculation but i don't think we will get a new album until next year. I would rather want a good album than a rushed effort. Its best if he takes his time and puts alot of effort into it.

By the time it was released, the press releases were promoting 3121. However, it was LF that he was working toward until a (relatively) late switch to 3121 because he had dreamed up a branding exerercise that included albums, movies, perfume, night clubs, internet cafes, etc., most of which never came to pass.

And yet he had worn the 3121 jacket during the NAACP performance in early 2005. And performed "Satisified", which you'd be hard pressed to convince me was ever considered for Lotus Flower. It's pretty clear that the 3121 concept wasn't a last minute brainstorm.

I think you've caught Miltant disease sir! biggrin
