i've listened to all prince's drumming and stevie's. i'm a drummer and i'm telling u stevie shits on prince. prince is a good drummer to a point, but he's very limited, there's alot of styles he just can't play, his drumming on a million days is awful. u see any criticism of prince as trolling when in reality you're so sycophantic you can't be objective, so i repeat.....STFU wink

actually i am objective. I never said prince is dennis chambers or anything, all i said was that he is a competent drummer. Comparing prince's drumming to Kurt cobain is trolling, its not a criticism. Claiming the gold experience was a "contract filler" is trolling. So you decided to name one song where his drumming isnt good and that means it hasnt been good his entire carrear? lol

I am not the biggest fan of Stevie Wonder, though i respect him alot as a musician, and he's just as talented as prince, maybe even more. From the footage i saw of him drumming, he seemed pretty good but i never thought he was outstanding drummer. As far as playing different styles, he plays the styles that suit his music and thats all he needs. I am not sycophantic, if you can't see his troll posts than i can't help you. So STFU smile

prince's drumming on early tracks like head, wanna be your lover etc is perfect. sparse, economical and tight. however he just can't rock out convincingly. when i hear stevie play superstition i hear both the funk and the rock. this word troll is overused in my opinion, all art is subjective and reliant on debate. let's agree that dennis chambers shits on the pair of them and then we'll both STFU. lol biggrin

don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed....

My dude I know Stevie is a beast on drums, but to say Prince isn't equally good is CRAZY! Maybe you need to good back and listen to I'm Yours and Bambi. Funk and rocking out very convincingly!

do you mind responding to the post about the click track where you were owned? You are the one who has been proven wrong again and again troll boy, no need to feel bad for me, you're the one who has been owned.

here are a few questions for you

1. Prince's studio engineers and other musicians and most prince fans see him as a competent or a good drummer. You claim he is an amateur drummer. Are most of the people including his studio engineers wrong?

2. The Gold experience got great reviews from most critics and is regarded among his best works. Are most critics wrong? Are majority of the fans wrong? Or are you just right and everyone else is wrong?

3. Prince is widely regarded as one of the most versatile musicians who is a master of several genres. Most critics and fans agree. However you claimed that all he is capable of is pop and he "sucks at most" genres. So tell me, are most people wrong again?

The only thing you are doing is deluding yourself. Most people do not agree with your troll posts. You said prince's "amateur drumming " was evident to "many". Who are these "many" people, are they in your imagination? Why do you need to feel bad for me when you are the one who has been destroyed again and again? Keep deluding yourself, most people simply do not agree with your comical posts.

hhhhdmt and TrevorAyer, can you guys just agree to disagree? You are kind of derailing this thread and sending it way off topic. If you want to continue to argue with each other why not do so through orgnotes? I don't think either one of you is going to win the other over to your way of thinking so this back and forth is pointless.

I have responded to your same requests in the original thread in which you made said requests. There is no need to repeat rehash or rederail this thread because of you obsession with trashing everything I say. I am happy to discuss the thread topic. I try not to feel bad for you cuz ur such a douche bag, but ultimately compassion reigns. I have faith that you have the ability to communicate respectfully, as you have shown this abiltiy to others who agree with my views, but with me you are very abusive over the same issues. Thats your struggle not mine. However if u wanna keep harrassing me, don't be surprised at my reaction.

Thanks for the questions, I'll consider this my first national interview and notch it on my path to fame. lol Right here live on prince.org lol

1. I don't understand your definition of 'most'. None the less, an amature can be competent and good. There is just a huge difference between a professional who actually plays a singular instrument several hours a day and someone who picks it up here and there. It's not an insult to say he "dabbles" or is "amature". And yes most people are wrong about something at some point. I completely respect prince but you can't argue "mosts" when "most" people thought milli vanilli was those long haired dancers in the video. I really like when prince used to drum. He had some great moments. I find the more recent drumming pretty clunky and feel he would sound better with a better drummer performing on some of his work. Thats my opinion.

2. If you take the most fans that prince ever had, like purple rain era sales, then compare that number to how many records 'gold experience" sold, add in how many hardcore fans like myself who want to love it but just cant, and I would say the opinion of "most" prince fans is that gold isn't that good. There really is no wrong or right on taste. Are you saying I am wrong because I disagree with you?

3. I think your assertion that "most" fans and critics agree with you is undermined by the fact that prince sales show he has less fans in general and boards like this show a lot of prince fanatics who still love him don't neccessarily like his recent output very much. All in all the numbers show "most" of his fans have lost interest. I feel that these facts reinforce the reality that prince wasn't very good at many of the genres he attempted to incorporate.

Hope that helps ya ..

I have agreed to disagree numerous times. I don't chime in on his posts. If I post anything he jumps all over me. I'm not gonna just be harrassed. I may not post the most common and popular ideas but I do try to stay on topic until I get dogged.

The Gold Experience was not important and Prince's career and legacy wouldn't be affected by it's existence or not. It's like any other of Prince's albums after Lovesexy, some great songs and some really bad songs.

" Most" prince fans think that gold isnt very good? lol Its considered one of his best work by the majority of his fans and most critics. Sales do not equal quality of work. Once again you are imagining things lol

I am not even going to bother arguing with you on the other two things since it was off topic anyway and i can't respond to such trolling anymore.

I dont want to post anymore in this thread though. You see TGE as a mediocre contract filler. Majority of fans see it as a good or great record, and most critics gave it a great review. So in the eyes of the majority, it adds to his legacy. Thats all that matters.
