Wow. This is cool. Andy Allo just posted this track to her Facebook Page and it is something else! It is Prince and Andy doing an acoustic version of his song "Guitar" with Andy on lead and Prince backing her up.

Hmm. We wonder where it was recorded with Andy on tour with Prince. Backstage? On stage? In a studio? Aww, who cares! As long as we get to hear it. Check out Prince and Andy performing an acoustic version of "Guitar" below!

Sounds like 2 scrubs.

I can't believe Prince would be associated with this type of performance.

NOT a good look.

What's going on with Prince?

Thanks, it was on Funkenberry's page, and not everyone can get to Facebook to see it on some (work) computers, so I posted it here after reading it on a different thread in the concerts forum. biggrin But if the mods feel the need to close this thread, then that's fine.biggrin

Really? You don't like it? Maybe they were performing it backstage or in a studio together. Not like they were on stage. Just sounds like two musicians having a quiet moment and enjoying playing one of his songs together. I look at it as young artist, who appreciates and has been given the opportunity to share a guitar-playing moment with a well-known musician.

What did Shelby steal from your life? lol and since when did fans own Prince to the point where we could tell him what to do, which musician/artist to hire or collaborate with, who and what "type" he can associate with, how to be, etc., etc., especially when none of us are his personal friends and don't have anything to do with the air he breathes?lol

Actually I really don't care. lol

So anyway....getting back on topic. I think it's nice that Andy shared that acoustic version of her and Prince playing that song "Guitar" together. She's collaborating and learning from one of the best in the music industry. Not many artists today, will be able to have that on their resume. She has two tracks that I heard her sing on a show/vid last year, one is called "Sometimes" and the other is "Conclusions". She's collaborated with other artists prior to being in Prince's band, so she's not new to the game.

..and that hardest lesson can't be less than a positive one. Everyone has to go through their own life experiences good or bad, both comes with the territory. What matters is how to make it work for you, from the lessons learned.

Should the day comes when she leaves the band, she'll leave with an increased knowledge of her guitar skills, learning from the best, as well as an expansion of her skills as a musician/performer, and an inside knowledge/awareness of the music industry. So basically, those will be good lessons learned.biggrin

OMG Prince lost his mind, this Andy girl can sing but

her "guitar playing" is beyond rudamentary and it will hurt

his music because he started employing beginners.

So every prince.org chick with nice booty who can strum

2 or 3 chords can audition for Prince .

Prince have finaly lost his mind?

I have a question.

Those who attended recent shows with Andy, did she play anything on guitar at all ?

I bet she can't learn Dance Music Sex Romance guitar riff

for at least 3 or 4 years.

This is just awfull the low end of Prince, worst then even New Power Soul.

So even if it's Prince just having a casual moment, playing an acoustic guitar version of a song, and they share it with some fans, to some fans that determines or sums up his guitar-playing skills? I like that it was a natural, unplugged experience of two musicians sharing a moment. shrug Kind of like when he and Wendy was on Tavis' show pretty much doing the same thing. I think some fans are over-exaggerating, and crying "OMG it's the end of his career". Please, not even close. I think no matter who Prince collaborates with, whether it's a new artist on the scene or an established one, they'll always find some complaint to b*tch and whine about. What else is new?lol

Say What? None of what you say here describes me nor what I meant. Never said anything about Prince's guitar playing. I adore "natural, unplugged moments" from P. Don't forget that I'm the one who champions Prince's music in cases where this entire site doesn't. I dig 'Rainbow Children'. I dig 'Planet Earth'. I adore 'Lotusflower'. Love 'N.E.W.S.'. Unplugged? Love 'The Truth' and 'One Night Alone'. Just sayin'

Naah, that's obviously your warped interpretation of a female's capabilities and value. You seriously need to get off that trip lol

Based on the anger in your previous post, don't let your anger take over something you have absolutely no control over. Try and remember we are all fans here, that's just about it, with no authority whatsoever to tell any musician who they are allowed to collaborate with musically. If you don't like the music, it's very easy....just turn the channel. Some will like it some won't. Life goes on. comfort

Wasn't meant to be stated as rude or to describe you personally Giovanni,. I apologize if it was taken that way. I was asking because of your response, if you felt by listening to that, if you really feel he needs to get back to the studio, based on what you heard from just that collaboration. I kind of like listening to "unplugged" sessions as well, as it gives a natural feel to the music/song. Speaking of "One Night Alone" - it's one of my favorite tracks.
