With all these celebrities like Michael Jackson and James Brown and Farrah Fawcett dying and leaving behind fortunes to thier loved ones, I always wondered:

Who is Prince going to leave like his music catalogue and millions of high heeled shoes and guitars and fortune to? He isn't married (fucking around, yes. married, no.) and he doesn't have any (legitamite) children that we know of.

So who gets the stuff when he goes to that concert hall in the sky?

Will it go to his family or will it be auctioned off?

(I call dibs on that half jacket from Grafitti Bridge)

My guess is that it all goes to charities. Right after the creditors are finished fighting over it.

Oh please, you just know his will lays out some crazy plan to turn Paisley Park into Graceland. That plan won't take but a year before the creditors force the sale of every inch of the estate via Sothebys. You'll all be bidding on gummed up eyeliner pencils, and his snow globe collection.

I am willing to bet his vault gets destroyed with him. He is not going to let anyone else make money off on him. We will never see any of that stuff

What about his siblings? Does he have nieces and nephews? Cousins, children of cousins, family in MPLS?

I would assume that it will be left to an estate and will be run by someone Prince appoints or a lawyer firm to run. Meaning Prince will give very detailed orders on how to manage his music and image long after his death.

We'll get whatever project he was working on, and some awful tribute record, but I think you're right. There's no way anyone that stuff is getting released without him doing it. Every 10 years they'll put out a song, like they do with the Beatles, but that's it.

didnt his parents live to be like 80 something? im sure prince will outlive everyone on here. hes ageless/timeless

I have no reason to think Prince is in bad health, and thus he has lots of time to change his mind, regardless of whatever plan he may have at the moment. He might end up like Leona Helmsley who left a fortune to her pet dog because the dog was her only friend. Who knows. I bet he's not leaving anything to his fans on the org.

I didn't expect my thread to get so many hits. I didn't mean any negativity when I wrote it. I want Prince to live, because lets' face it, he IS the LAST great MUSICIAN left. The LAST.

I was just curious because I never imagined any of the other celebs dropping like flies lately and I was just curious what Prince might do. That's all. He's so secretive anyway.

Hell it was 4 years before I found out what his last name was!

No offense guys/gals but when P is gone, I wont be thinking about any of the stuff he owns. Yeah he's got alot of cool things, music & materials. But I'll be more focused on the imprint he left on my life, and how a mans life is gone, atleast his life on earth.
