That would be something I would like to hear, it'd make a great bootleg.
Thanks for posting.

Can't watch at work. Did he say whether he was on drums or guitar?

you can just imagine prince showing off on smells like teen spirit and ending up by saying, see, that's how you play it

"It's a long story..."
Sure is.
It's a shame he didn't go into details about returning another night (sorry, TWO other nights) to perform what they had rehearsed...only to get the wave/shine/turned up nose from the man.
"Let's do it next week..." Is what I heard P told Dave...twice.
I've wondered why DG was never mentioned (even as rumour) around here when it was all going on. Noone would shut up about the "confirmed rumour" of Gwen, etc...and here we/HE had a real talent waiting in the wings.

Do you have a source for any of that?

You're so mean. | |

Would've been great to see/hear!

Ouch. Cold-blooded | |

While I don't care for his music, and will always maintain that Nirvana killed real rock n roll, I do admire his enthusiasm when he plays.

Dave Grohl is awesome!!! Love to hear that he got the chance to jam with Prince.
I would love to see these two legends on the same stage together - lets hope something happens again soon
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I wonder how much of a Prince fan Dave is?
... and vice versa..? Shut up already, damn.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Well, they did do each others songs. Prince's Sarah

I just thought I'd spend a few minutes composing the post because there aren't enough rumours that fly around this site already...
(it {what I said} is actually very true)

That interviewer is TERRIBLE. Let the interviewee speak and dont project what you believe they think onto them.
Love Dave Grohl though. You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City

wow, really interesting stuff. but yeah, that interviewer was weak. he had his set questions (which were fine), but he didn't ask follow up questions that actually related to what dave grohl was saying. it was like, "yeah, yeah, just finish your answer dave grohl because i already know what i want to say next." c'mon dude, it's dave grohl is super excited that he jammed with prince. ask a follow-up! like what kind of music did you play?
and as a fan of prince's music, i'd love to hear more about that jam session!

... and vice versa..? They're probably a big fans of each other, moreso David Grohl me thinks. Foo Fighters recorded a cover of Daring Nikki a few years back. Its good. I think David Grohl great, very talented. Would love to get hold of the jam of that. FUNKNROLL! "February 2014, wow". 'dre.

And yours is just another rumor like the rest of them.

Dave Grohl rules. [Edited 7/12/11 18:48pm]

And you know this because...you know me?
Wrong.
Just because Doc Funkytoes didn't tweet about it doesn't mean it didn't happen...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
So, why was it that this supposedly didn't happen? What happened? And was he supposed to just be on drums or the guitar too later on in the performance?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm pretty sure Prince had no idea how good and versatile Grohl is on drums, because he's been known more as a frontman for a while. Dave assaults the drums.
That's not even including Taylor Hawkins in the mix.
But we know what's coming - Justin Bieber on the drums.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I am very sure Prince knows how he is on drums which is why he suggested Dave play them [Edited 7/12/11 19:35pm]

i really hope they record something together in the futur. that would be something to look forward to
