Face Down Live, from NYC '97

I love this performance, but I'm curious as to who is playing guitar and who is plyaing bass for the song. I know Rhonda Smith was his bassist during that time and Prince also had Kat Dyson with him, but is prince playing bass for the "play that mf'ing bass" chants and things like that? I can't tell.

"GARSON! Avez-Vous un crayon? That's French, understand?"

Prince did generally play bass during face down at the time. i cant confirm for sure he did every performance that way but its a safe bet it is him on bass there, rhonda during most of the song, p during the chant part and little fills here and there. and by the way, i love that recording too!

I'll watch the video I have of it and let you know later on tonight or tomorrow. I was actually at that show but don't recall who played what when during that song.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Prince does bass on the opening and closing parts of the song, including the "play that mother fucking bass" bit. Rhonda does the main song which is about 3 minutes all in all. she joins in at the end again.

Kat Dyson + Mike Scott are on guitars.

Maybe we can keep this thread going for a little bit...

I always thought it was strange that the end of TMBGITW can be heard bewteen JOTY and Face Down. Why? I'm confused because I have a boot (Freedom Train) from the NYC show and TMBGITW isn't on it. Unless that song was cut from the boot for some reason? Anyone know?

TMBGITW is played directly before Face Down and it segues into it.
