Come Back Sheena! Who Likes the Prince and Sheena Collaborations? I love Sheena's voice and she along w/ Prince worked well, on Sugar Walls, 101, Cool Love, Arms of Orion and the most popular one "U got the look".
So where is Sheena Now and what does she think of Prince these days, and why not come back to paisley to record more music together...it would be like the good ole days, unless Prince burnt that bridge also?

A few years back I saw her on one of the home shopping networks, selling these tacky dolls she evidently makes now. She has a whole line of them.
It took awhile for it to sink in that it was Sheena. She still looked attractive, but she looked like somebody's mother at a PTA meeting or something. She definitely didn't look anything like the "Prince Sheena" of years ago. I don't know if she's still active musically, or if nowadays she only concentrates on doll business. I agree with you, though...she and P had some terrific collaborations, and she had great music on her own, too. EDIT: Ok, I just went and found this. Here is a link to a short transcript from TV Guide from back in 2000: http://members.fortunecit...e2000.html She is asked about her experience working w/Prince: Question: How was the experience, working with Prince? Easton: He is probably one of my favorite producers that I have ever worked with certainly one of the most spontaneous and creative. He taught me a lot about the songwriting business. He was very encouraging and very inspiring. I think that most people would say that in our industry he is one of the most unique talent. He encouraged me a lot to pursue my songwriting. She also talked about a show she was going to be in with David Cassidy. I Liked there Up-Tempo Material&Felt there was a Real Chemistry there but no More "Arms of Orion" or "Eternity" Again YIKES!!! but "101",Cool Love"Sugar Walls" were Cool Tracks IMHO.not crazy about "U Got The Look" it reminds me too much of Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love".Long Version was cool though IMHO. mistermaxxx

101 was completely underrated on its release.
The David Morales mix is fantastic. She did have a pretty voice but I think that in the U.K. she was always seen as a joke because her career started on a BBC talent show.

She's a regular performer at the Las Vegas Hilton. She originally did a show with David Cassidy in Vegas, but has been doing the solo gig at Hilton for a couple of years. I think she's had some work done -- doesn't look the same. I am a fan of her work in general, and with Prince, in particular -- even the super syrupy "Arms of Orion." I remember hearing "Morning Train" when it was first released and thinking it was Marie Osmond. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

You struck a nerve in me!! Most peeps might find this hard to believe, but I was actually a Sheena Easton fan for years before I ever even really cared who Prince was. I still recall being a kid listening to her first big radio hit, "My baybee takes the Morning Train"... I don't care if they never collaborate again, but I sure do wish Sheena wasn't washed up ¶ēą¢ė, Måĉ

OK now I am going to really make an ass of myself, but since we are on the Sheena topic, I would like to say, she has a lot of good songs from pre-Prince era that probably no one here has heard or cares about, but for the curious, check out http://www.sheenaeaston.c...raphy.html - I still recall "I wouldn't beg for water", "Ice out in the rain" (yeah!) and just for the record, I want to BARF every time I hear Bette Middlers version of "Wind beneath my wings" screw you Bette, Sheenas version was so much sweeter OK I guess I still have a soft spot for the girl. By the time "Sugar Walls" came out, I was already well into Prince, and when the realization first hit me that these two were working together, I still recall how I didn't know whether to faint because it was so damn cool, or faint because I knew it would eventually spell the end of Sheenas career (not that it was really burning hot at that point anyway, but you know) ¶ēą¢ė, Måĉ
