I don't know if anyone posted about this, but I wanted to know if the "Prince_Live" on Twitter is really him. Can you let me know? and if its not, can you tell me if there is a real twitter site for him. i ask b/c the pictures seem realistic, and there is a purple ipod contest going on right now. Just don't wanna waste my time.

Oh, I'm sure he's well aware!! Remember when he said that he's got a web presence, but no one really knows it? I think he said that in one of the print interviews from within the past 18 months.

Some time ago now that account posted a supposed photo from backstage at a concert. That photo was later proven to be from the blog of some European band, having been posted several months prior to it being used by the Prince_live account (claiming it had just been taken).

There was a lengthy discussion about it over at Moquake at the time, with all the relevant links, etc...

The Prince_live account is completely fake.

They're calling themselves the "Offical Twitter of", and if it isn't Prince, his people should be dealing with it. The thing is when celebrities who've known him start following, it comes across as being for real.

I think Twitter is a good way to make official announcements.

Another reason to not take him so seriously.

Along with the coloured banners on top of the forums warning not to ask for bootlegs, etc there should be another one saying simply: 'No, Prince is not on Twitter. That fucking account is not his'.

We'd be saving some space without unnecessary threads every 2 or 3 days...
