New Power Soul I just got this CD. I can't believe I was missing all that good music for all these years. It's right up there with Gold Experience and Emancipation for me. One of my favorite now. | |

NPS is a crap cd imo, 3 good songs - about 4 / 10 total,
Gold Experience is much much better 10 / 10 Prince 4Ever.  | |

There was a thread last week about this album, and 80% of orgers agreed this is an awful CD. I think its really simple, and that its far from his best work, & its no where near as good as The Gold Experirnce or Emancipation. but what ever we all have our opinions
But it still aint his worst album

it's a decent album. "the one" and "wasted kisses" are on there, so that definitely counts for something. How can I stand 2 stay where I am? / Poor butterfly who don't understand. | |

I love that song. But I don't get the line "about smothering in front of her gut?" And another thing about it is about halfway into the song there's a noice that I've mistaken a few times for my tire hitting something in the road. Somehow he makes the siren sound good. And his voice in this song sound different than I've ever heard - it has kind of an 80's new wave sound somehow. | |

Actually it wasn't your thread. I bought the CD about a year ago and have been relishing it. I do that with new Prince cds. I think 1-800-NEW FUNK is the only one I haven't heard yet. I was just so happy about New Power Soul. It's all really good. | |
