Kind of makes you wonder what itsjustaroundthecorner is putting in their nose.

Shame on all those who listed Hello and Escape - two of his best b-sides.

Temptation - hated it as a kid. Gave it a spin recently to see if maybe I just needed to hear it with adult ears. Nope. Still sucks.

It - Boring, repetitive, and just not very funky. What's good about it really? You could say Hot Thing is boring and repetitive but at least it's funky. "It" has nothing going for it.

Lemon Crush - First song that made me realize that Prince was fallible. I got hooked with Lovesexy as a kid, and when Batman came out I had high expectations. This song is just kinda boring. The euphemism is bad cuz it just makes you think of soda. The lyrics, melody, and chorus sound like they were created in about 5 minutes.

Computer Blue - This one is lauded as a masterpiece and I just don't understand why. I've listened to all of the versions circulation, including the infamous "Hallway Speech" one. I always skip this one if I'm listening to Purple Rain. The keyboard line is a cheese-fest. I guess the breakdown where "Father's Song" starts is kinda nice, but it doesn't save it for me.

Let's Pretend We're Married - I heard this when I was kid and kinda giggled at the "I sincerely wanna fuck the taste outta ur mouth" line. But I never liked it as a song. The concept kinda fails for me too as I don't think of married people being overly libidinous. Isn't that when sex kinda dies for a couple?

Automatic - Still don't like it. I see it as a blueprint for better songs that came after, such as "G-Spot." The melody of the verses and chorus kinda falls flat for me and it goes on for way too long.

All The Critics Love U In New York - Kinda boring for me and doesn't really go anywhere. I think "Purple Music" is similar but better in every possible way. I feel like he thought he had a cool concept with this song but didn't deliver when it came to the actual song. Kinda like "Automatic."

I guess I could fill out the remainder of the list with side 2 of For You. I can't really tell you much about songs like, "I'm Yours," and "So Blue," as they never appealed to me.

That leaves one more....

I guess it would be "Dirty Mind." It's hard to get excited about a song based on only one chord and no interesting changes.

I've grown to like it in my old age. I find it humorous now and every time I hear it, I can picture that old man in the movie nodding off and snoring while it was playing.
