Most of my friends and contemporaries know I into Prince but, I rarely talk with non-Prince fans about Prince. The most recent article that came out, only we at prince.org and other fan sites or facebook have been talking about it.

I don't bring him up anymore, like Lisa said in Purple Rain and I'll add a bit of my words to it:

It used to bother me but i'm getting up in my 40's now and mellowed, i refuse to waste my time debating or trying to convert the non initiated. When i do want to make a point and i respect the person giving me shit i will leave it at this " by all objective standards of musicianship and artistry he is the most complete artist of all time, and if you have any musical integerity you wont sit here like a 6th grader and call him names you'll look it up". A few cats i know, who still weren't converted (because they simply could not get over his image) came back to me on some "damn he's the real deal, i didnt know". Another "go to" move is, "i think he's proven everything he's needed to prove over 30 plus years, he certainly dont need me to argue on his behalf". I was on a class reunion page on FB and there were people still taking shots @ me about prince and my response was just that, game over check the scoreboard. Whether he had a lot to do with obscuring his talent is neither here nor there, the bottom line is whenever detrators see him with that ax and choose to watch they cant lie about what it is they are seeing.

i dont think prince is ignorant at all but i gather alot of people on here are cuz they mis use his words and twist what he say alot. sometimes i wonder if the people on this site aiffer from a high level of drugs or something

methinks you've missed the meaning of this thread!

The only thing that irratates me is people's ingorance of the man and his accomplishments not to mention their twisted facts. ThenI feel compelled to set them straight remembering that everyone have a right to their opinions.

I'm 40 and I have a couple of friends who listen to all that stuff too. The others are into good stuff though (imo).
