What's he looking at?
I already posted a thread on this (http://prince.org/msg/7/357888) but I wanted to give some examples of what I was talking about. There is a 'look' that Prince does where it seems like he's looking up and beyond at something. It's intriguing. What's he thinking during these moments I wonder? What are you guys' thoughts?

Yeah - I know the look - uses it a lot on the Raspberry Beret video.
Why I think he does it: #1: He knows he looks cool doing it. (It's why Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles tries to copy it in the 'Walk like an Egyptian' video)
#2: In the study of body language, a person looking up and to their right indicates a "Visual Construct" - this is different than something remembered - it's something visually created. This fits as he is normally talking about something he is creating / would like to see / etc.
w/r/t #2 - did that happen naturally with Prince, or did Prince know this and use it to help with #1? Hard to say..... | |

I think its like he's looking up to God for guidance and is thanking him. I noticed there was a point in the concert yesterday where he looked like he was in a trance temporarily, he was looking like he was having a spiritual moment!

Yes, I guess I understand what you mean.. In the past, when singing live, he used to look at someone special, and give a smile or whatever a frown or... imo, Nowadays, I suppose that he's kind of focusing on a point somewhere, he gives the feeling that he's looking to a special thing, but in fact he doesn't look to anything in particular.. His look is on a point, he focuses on something. The spiritual moment I hope he feels, is the pleasure he has got when the audience replies and sings positively along high with him

A lawyer once told me that when you're looking up, your mind is trying to remember a specific event. And when you're looking down, your mind is pulling up a specific emotion.
This is useful to see when people may be lying to you. If they're looking down when they're answering a question, chances are they aren't telling the truth. | |

Yes I know that face, he does it so often, I just cant think of a name for it. But The Ladder(performances), I Wish U Heaven (video), Purple Rain (performaces) and The Most Beautiful Girl In The World (video, performances) are some of the most obvious of this facial expression. Seriously: I suppose he seems focused on his song and his voice or does he want to "siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh" because of bad memories within those songs, so he focuses, not to, As God is inside of him, am not sure that he sees anything outside ...
