I need everyones opinion on something

I just bought The Parade cd from Wal-Mart, I was actually pretty surprised. Mainly because I live in Kentucky. (You don't see his stuff alot around here.) I'm pretty sure it's a good album though. Sorry, I wanted your opinion on the album.

Just to cover all the bases, here are my opinions:

Parade: Brilliant. I love it.

Wal-Mart: Hate it.

Kentucky: Get out as fast as you can.

Something is an okay word, means there should be a thing to represent the word otherwise people would not know what something you were talking about.

Talking Parade? I wish it was me who was about to discover such a fantastic piece of music....

although, you are just 25 years, and a few months late.... where have you been? lol

Parade is a masterpiece of course it's "a good album".......

Classic Prince songs, those 4 singles:

Girls & Boys

Mountains, (the 12 inch extended version!)

Kiss (the 12 inch extended version!)

Anotherloverholenyohead (the 12 inch extended version!)

and lovely ballads:

Under The Cherry Moon

Sometimes It Snows In April

the way the songs just flows into each other.. superb!

I love every note on this fine album.

Fantastic! A Prince top 5 album, right behind:

1. Purple Rain

2. Sign "O" The Times

3. 1999

4. Lovesexy

5. Parade music

worship

.

It's an album that you might find a bit weird at first, but then grow to love it. Well, that's what happened to me. lol

I think it is too short. The songs are short. As soon as the album it starts its already over sad

I wish the soundtrack was true to the movie sad

I love Parade!

Anotherlover is my all time favorite Prince song.

Mountains and Kiss are great, too.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with buying any Prince album up until the mid-90s. The albums after Come are hit/miss. But you should definitely check them out and form your own opinion. Musical taste is very personal.

Enjoy!

I was trying to change my avatar, but couldn't get the new picture size small enough without making it look like a blurry mess. And I haven't put the old one back up. It was from one of my favorite scenes in UTCM when they are dancing and he calls Mary Cabbage Head! <3

I'm a big fan of the movie and the album!

The first time I put the record on the turntable I was drawn to two tracks as perfect songs:

Girls & Boys

Kiss

now I would also add:

New Position

Under the Cherry Moon

Mountains

But I didn't know Walmart was allowed to sell Prince albums...Doesn't Parade have parental-advisory sticker on it? Or do they have clean-edit version for Walmart?

I hope you like Parade. When I was 13, my fifteen year old sister bought Parade. After a couple of weeks of her playing it, I stole it. Yes thats right, straight out appropriated it for my goodself. You see, she scratched it. She couldn't care less. She was really a Cure fan. Wild Robert Smith hair, crucifixes and a petulant streak.

Anyway, to cut the proverbial story short, Parade was my intoduction to Prince. I couldn't believe my ears. Still can't.

It's second for me in the Prince canon ( After Sign O' The Times). I dont think i've heard anything like it by any artist. A true original.

Anyway, Enjoy it, and if you think it's any good let us know.

My opinion: Listen to it over and over, then listen to all his other albums through at least The Gold Experience. And spend as little time as possible in this forum until you're a jaded old fart like me.
