Send Home The Clown With Prince spouting views that are utter bollocks and putting on a show in Paris that was utter cabaret of the Lowest order, can we send home the clown and have our old Prince back circa 1987, what happened was he kidnapped and cloned, did he have a midlife musical bypass, did he forget how to play his own tunes. No wonder people are going to protest during his concert at the hop farm on Sunday, Tom Jones the godfather of cabaret has knickers thrown at him this lot are planning to throw bottles and burkhas! Where'd'you hear they were planning to do that? Given I'm travelling from the Northwest I'd be a bit narked if that happened...burqa's, amusing...bottles, plain stupid. Saw P.I.L. a few weeks back - even John Lydon berated someone for chucking a bottle. Fingers crossed the show ain't spoilt. They should be out protesting Clegg and Cameron not singers... And so he should, there is always at least one arsehole at every show I go to, usually some pissed up fuckbrain throwing a pint or something equally stupid.
Was PIL's bassist not hit in the face with a glass bottle in the 80's or something? I recall a story along those lines, gigs were postponed and shit because the guy's face was like a balloon.

PIL's shows were manic! Martin Atkins from the band is a friend of mine. He told about a show once, where he and Jah Wobble went out on stage and started jamming to warm up... and then Johnny didn't even come out! He decided at the very last minute not to do the show, when they were already on stage! So they had to improvise and try and keep the crowd happy for a bit before making a swift exit!
It's a shame the current PIL lineup doesn't contain any OG bandmembers. The current PIL bass player used to play with the Spice Girls... not very rock and roll! |
